The Atrium cabin was real nice.
We used to camp their almost 30 years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Allen were living. Our two sons enjoyed it back then when we used to have a pop-up camper. We camped their every summer for 4 or 5 years.
Now our boys and their children camped with us in the cabin.
It was plenty of things for the 3 grandchildren to do. Swimming, playground, game room, activities for the kids and just peace and quiet for the rest of the family.
We hope to take everyone back their again for another stay. Just wish we had more time to stay longer.
Brock and his wife and staff did an excellent job of keeping things going. It was a lot of work to keep everything running smooth. I didnt hear any complaints from our gang!! The grandchildren didnot want to leave. They loved it. Would highly reccomend this campground to other campers. The Shade Trees are a plus for any camp site. More tents than I have ever seen. We are thinking of getting a big camper.
Ed Allens is a rip off. Debra did not want to honor our previously arranged details of compensating us if we could not stay the full month. We paid for a month in advance not knowing if we would have to leave in a week, or two weeks or stay for the month. We're working out of town and staying (2 campers) until we have to be onsite. After several unreturned phone calls she finally left a message contradicting everything we discussed. I've never been to a campground that will not prorate your stay! Not typical of quality campgrounds-not a good group of people. I wasn't impressed with the campground as well, very nice drive to the campground but very run down.
If you are looking for a true camping experience, this is it. Set up a tent, camper, whatever you want and sit back and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful Chickahominy Lake. Great people!! You can definently tell this is family run!
