Will never come back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/09
The rate charged was higher than listed on the internet site. We camped with a fifth wheel. The spaces are too narrow for the slides on both sides to be open. When open they really cramped the neighbors space. Backing into the space was a problem. The road is quite narrow and they were adamant about not getting on the grass.

Will not return

Camping in the Smokies Campground July 09 This campground sports many good qualities. The location is super for planning a visit to Gatlinburg. It is right on the trolley line (trolley stops at the mouth of the campground) and fairly close to town. One could walk it if you had to. The bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms were in good repair and very clean. The pool was kept up daily. The grounds were maintained and not one speck of trash could be found. The general area was level and there were ample gravel on each site. The campground has WIFI and a sampling of cable (8 channels) TV. On the down side, the sites were very close to one another. I had to watch my slide out to make sure it did not hit the camper next door. The campground did not have any playground equipment at all. The worst thing was the managers were extremely strict on every rule they have in place. I saw them almost tow a car for being parked there without one of their tags. They ran off some teens from the pool because they were not 18 years old. Those teens needed a parent with them in order to swim. They did other items too. There was a creek that ran beside the campground. Overall the price we paid was too high and the sites were too close for us to return.

Will definitely stay there again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/09
This was absolutely the cleanest campground that I have ever visited! The managers worked night & day to keep the grounds, the pool, and the bath areas clean. It has a laid back family atmosphere, very quiet & peaceful but just a short drive or trolley trip to all the attractions. I was most impressed with how immaculately clean the bath areas were; well above the norm for most campgrounds that I have visited anywhere. The management deserves kudos for all their hard work.

Thank you George & Frankie
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/07
We have stayed at the Camping In The Smokies campgrounds many times. We love it. George and Frankie are the sweetest most courteous people you can find. We always bring our Harley and ride through the mountains and staying here has been a highlight of our trips. Very clean, quiet and the people are really great. Love not having to drive to Gatlinburg just hop the trolley and enjoy your evening checking out the shops. Very highly recommend this campground if you are looking for peace and quiet.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/07
We had a very nice stay at this campground. It was Quite, very peaceful at night..Listening to the creek. The Trolley also stops at the campground and will take you pretty much anywhere. We enjoyed talking with the Host. Everyone was very friendly with us too! Met a lot of nice people that were camping there too.

Not So Pet Friendly
By libashepherds, 03/25/07
Although they claim to welcome pets, this campground asked us to leave because "..the owner doesn't like German Shepherds..". We were not informed that our dog was not welcome at check-in nor did we see any signs saying German Shepherds were not welcome. Our dog was well behaved and we did not break any of their rules. If you are a German Shepherd owner do not stay here.
