We are seasonal campers at Beech Lake and have camped there off and on for about two years. I have read the reviews from other seasonal campers and what they need to realize is that management runs the place like a business (as they should). Personally if they didnt run the campgrounds like they do, people will take advantage of the facilities and this is their money maker. The place is clean, management takes a strong front on keeping the rift raft out, and there are family oriented activities. Try going to other campgrounds further east where they hold underage "drinkfests". Thank you management at Beech Lake. You are doing a great job.
We are also seasonal campers that have been around as long as most and agree that this is a good campground. The campground and facalities are kept in nice condition, the location is also very nice but what keeps us coming back is the family like atmosphere shared by most of the seasonal campers. While we can appreciate most of the rules and have no issues in following them, management needs to consider that this is a campground not a bootcamp. Yes, you will always have issues when dealing with the public but what seems to be forgotten is that the public are your customers and you are in fact running a business. Those of us who return year after year are often looked at as second class citizens, an inconvenience, or that we are being done a favor by being allowed to spend our money with them. Seasonals provide a large sum of revenue and have watched prices and fees continue to rise with no major upgrades or improvements. We at least deserve a smile, warm greeting, and the occasional Thank You. With that being said, my family enjoys the time spent here and would reccomend giving it a stay....just don't expect a smiling face unless you run into the very sweet Ms.Helen. this is a good campground but with a few modifications to the grounds and some attitudes of management it could be great.
My self & my wife & our 2 young kids have been camping here as seasonals for last 3 years and camped here as weekenders for 2 yrs. prior. We have saw many ppl come and go and heard lots about the owners and how they run the place. However if they didn't have rules ppl would run around wild and others would complain about that as well. If you do as they ask , your stay will be much more enjoyable. As for myself and family, We love it here. Perfect place for younger kids "because of the rules the enforce." Thanks to them who try to deal with the rudness of the public.
My wife and I are Seasonal Campers. We have bee there, off and on, on the weekends and love the place. It is very beautiful campgrounds, the camping spot are located just right.
I have read the review of others and yes the owners run the campgrounds in a strict manner, but dealing with the public like I do, I can understand. They have strict rules and without them, people will get out of hand.
As long as you undestand that before going in and set in your mind to get to know (read the rules and policies) and operate within the rules, you and your family will have a very enjoyable weekend.
We look forward to the camping season, starting the middle of March!!!
the campground and the facillities are nice but the management are very rude.me and my family have camped there for he last year .we were there the weekend before memorial day and the memorial weekend for a total 220.00 dollars we had also talked about renting a spot there for the year when we found a better camper this past sunday we rode through there looking at the sites availlable and also if anyone had a camper for sale when we stopped at the restroom.while i was waiting in the car for my wife to come out the lady that runs it told us to leave because we were not camping this weekend and then the man named glynn stopped and accused us of stealling wood the weekend before we brought the wood with us i think they were very rude and i will never go back until they are gone camping is suppose to be fun but bthey made it really bad i had always heard they were rude but never had a promblem untill now just beware of them if anyone has had the same thing happen please post it where others will know
The location is excellent, the bathrooms and front office are immaculate, the campsites are placed in the perfect places so that they all have a nice view. but BUT BUT. The management is extremely unpleasant and seems to be mentally unstable. Beautiful place but its ran by crazy Yankees. Ive camped all over this country at thousands of campgrounds and parks an I have never had a more unpleasant experience. Go to Beech Bluff near Perryville TN. Its nicer and the people who run it are much friendlier.
