Holiday Trav-L-Park Resort, Emerald Isle

The Isle of Emerald is absolutely beautiful. But, Holiday Travel Park is WAY overpriced. You get a better deal, oceanfront, by booking a beach duplex/cottage. Gas is also overpriced on the island... go across the highrise, RV'ers and fill up there. Swansboro, GO-Gas is cheapest so far. $3.85 @ June 2nd, 2008. We have camped 20 or 30 times over the years at HTP. We were told this Spring, by cottage owners, Ronnie Watson, Owner of HTP has sold. Guess no one is beyond the developers. Just look what happened oceanfront, to pristine maritime forest across from Emerald plantation. Gone. The Crystal Coast is going way of Myrtle Beach.

We had our first trip to the travel park this past weekend. The campground was spotless! Even though we didn't have to use the bathhouse I stopped in to take a look...it was immaculate! We stayed on a oceanfront site (lot 29). The beach was beautiful and even though the dunes block the view of the ocean we could still hear the waves crashing onto the beach. The staff was super friendly and constantly going around the grounds to make sure things were tidy. This was the first of many, many, many more trips to the Emerald Isle Trav L Park!!!

We have always found the staff and owner to be very friendly and helpful.This is the cleanest campground we have stayed at.In fact it is awesome.We look forward to spending a lot more time here.

Poor layout. Pool too far from sites. Too expensive! Sites are not paved and not level. Too many rules and unfriendly staff and owner. Great location and nice beach. We have camped throughout the U.S. and we have camped here for over a decade. You can stay cheaper at Disney...so true.

This place is awesome. The bathhouses are cleaner than any campground Ive ever been to. The staff is extremely friendly, except for the owner. Ive tried to speak to him on several occassions, and hes about the most hateful person on the Island. Other than that, I will continue to visit this place because my kids love it. During the summer they have live music on Saturdays, movies and crafts for the kids almost on a daily basis. Take away the owners attitude, and I give it 5 stars.

With all the beach front property being given up for condos, it's good to see one place that refuses to give in. Great area with activities and stores within walking distance. The facilities and beach area are kept clean. I will continue to go every year until some condo builder finally makes an offer they can't refuse. Then I'll weep for the loss of a great place to spend a week's vacation.

An awesome find! Super clean bathhouses, easy beach access, great rates, friendly service, and convenient to their gas station and other stores. A clean, safe, attractive, affordable place to camp by the beach. Tons of good things to say.

Very clean and well run. One of the best we've ever been to. Oceanfront convenience is great. Rates are getting steep, though.

REALY GOOD FOR FAIMIES! THEY HAVE ALOT FOR KEDS TO DO. OUR KEDS LOVE THE PLAY GROUND. THAY ALSO HAVE NICE AND CLEAN BATH HOUSES. FOR INTERNET USERS,THEY COULD HAVE BETTER. ALSO PET FRENDLY. WE JUST LOVE THE PLACE.

the entire place is immaculate. staff is very friendly. cleanest place we have ever camped. access to the ocean is great. the whole isle is very clean. highly recommend this camp ground.
