No Dogs? You're kidding!!

This campground is primarily for camping trailers, but they do have four tent sites away from the campers down by the creek. It's a beautiful spot and my wife and I have stayed there on several occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everytime we've stayed there, we have been the only tent campers and enjoyed this isolated area to ourselves. It's a pretty good hike to the bathhouse from down there but well worth the privacy.
We recently called to make reservations for our end of the summer trip and were told - NO DOGS! We have always taken our dogs without incident and we're very diligent about cleaning up behind them. They are very well trained and don't bark. We were shocked when told this news. I've never heard of a campground; especially Virginia Creek, where the tent campers are separated from the trailer campers, which denied dogs. In addition, we've never encountered another tent camper at the campground in our many visits.
Too bad. We don't understand and will surely miss our stays at Virginia Creek. We gave Virginia Creek a poor rating which really isn't reflective of our opinion of the campground. They just don't have a catagory for disappointed.
