PREPAID FOR SPOT - AFTER DRIVING 150 MILES THEY GAVE OUR SPOT TO ANOTHER PARTY (ONE THAT BOUGHT A TRAILER FROM THEM!)
We were going to be in Austin for several months. Our arrival date was on a Sunday but since there was this Harley Davidson Expo that weekend (expecting over 250 people) I decided to drive from way south San Antonio (about 80 miles one way) on the Wednesday prior and select our spot and go ahead and pay the monthly rate starting on that Wednesday. Except for just a few of their spots, they are very small and very close together. We needed one of those few spots that would accommodate our 2 vehicles and our needs. They gave me yellow flagging tape to rope off the spot to prevent anyone from choosing our spot since we were not going to be arriving until Sunday. With 5th wheel and second car in tow, we drove again from our house way south of San Antonio to Crestview RV Park in Buda, Texas (just outside Austin) to drop off our second car and from there go to our family reunion 150 miles (one way) away. When we got to the RV park, there was a 5th wheel in our spot (now remember I had already paid for this spot the Wednesday prior). When I went to the office to figure out what was going on, they sent a guy down to the spot to talk to us and the people in the 5th wheel that was in our spot. Crestviews representative told us and the other couple that they would move them to another spot since we had already paid for that spot before they were even in that spot. Since we were just gonna drop off our 2nd car and leave to our reunion and be back on Sunday morning, Crestview assured us that they would move them out of our spot by the time we returned on Sunday morning. So being assured of this, we left our 2nd car in their parking lot and went on to our reunion. You will not believe what they didwhen we returned on Sunday morning, they were still in our spot. So I went back down to their office again to see what was going on. The RV Park manager told me that the people that were in our spot bought the trailer from them and that they were not going to move them. Let me tell you, his tone of voice was to say the least VERY RUDE. Needless to say that did not go over well specially the rude way he said it. I told him that we had already paid for that spot and we were also told by his staff that they would be out for sure by Sunday morning. Again, very rudely, he said that he was the manager and that he didnt care what anyone else told us, those people were not going to be moving out of our prepaid spot. He then informed me that I could take my refund and take my business elsewhere. That is just what I did. Now remind you, the Harly expo was that weekend and finding an RV Park with an opening at that early time of the day was impossible. It was 5:00 P.M. that day before we finally found an RV Park that had a spot available. Because I paid the $500.00 monthly rate at Crestview with my debit card, I had asked for cash since I was going to have to go find another RV Park and knew that the credit was not going to reflect my checking account that the debit card was associated with that day. I explained that to them and they didnt care. So, I had $500.00 tied up in my checking account for 3 days before the credit appeared in my checking account. On Monday morning I called Crestview to speak with their General Manager to let him know what happened, he never apologized for their actions; in fact he said nothing at all. Do you know how it feels when you have driven 150 miles to get to the RV Park you have already paid for and find out that you have no spot? Go to them and you may find out!!!!!!!!
