WARNING! Do not go here!
By Graciepoo, 10/20/10
I wouldnt even give this place a one star rating! Horrible customer service and facilities. I had confirmed reservations via email 2 times before heading out on my trip, and when we arrived to the hotel there were none to be found. Luckily there was a vacancy....but I'm almost wishing they were full.....i would have driven somewhere else after seeing what condition the place was in. I was also charged $16 more than what i was originally quoted, even after showing them a copy of the emails i was sent from their front desk personnel. The first room we had be assigned to (room #20) was supposed to be a non smoking room. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, there were rat droppings behind the toilet, faulty electrical work, and a burned AC unit (literally....it was melted). We asked to switch to a safer room on the bottom floor, so they assigned us to room #3. That room had shoddy electrical work (loose electrical sockets and plugs), some sort of dirty splatter on the wall on the right side of the bed that had never been cleaned, beer bottle caps and candy leftover in the room (most of it strewn under the night stands), a sock I'm assuming was left from a previous guest in the bathroom under the sink where there was dust and dirt everywhere. There was also more dust, dirt, and cobwebs all around the room where the carpet meets the floor, on the TV, microwave, and shelving....not to mention there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The heating unit looked as though it had never been cleaned and could be a possible fire hazard or fire code violation. The door leading to the adjoining room was just styrofoam with a flimsy piece of wood leaning against it. There was hair and grime still in the bathtub and shower, and all the faucets had grime in and outside of the spout. There's a light switch that controls the TV, the track lights didn't work, and the "repair" guy didn't even know how to fix anything. There was only one very VERY small garbage can for the whole room, and no extra bags. I believed the unit to be filthy and quite unsanitary. The owners are in the hospitality business and should act like they are. I asked for a refund which they rudely denied. They told me that they don't care, that the place is not a restaurant and its my problem that i was disappointed, not theirs. I don't know why they brought up the fact that its not a restaurant, but i have a feeling that they don't even understand what the word 'customer service' is, or 'hospitality'.

Bedbugs!!! Don't go here!
By AbbasKid, 10/1/10
How I know its this hotel that I got bedbugs from, because I'd been camping out 3 days before that with no problems. It was very dirty. Under the bed it looked as if it had not been cleaned for 5 years. We're talking inches of dust! When I first noticed a pinchy feeling on my feet and bites, I figured it was just fleas. I did not know bedbugs existed. The owners were also very cheap. They only gave you one roll of toilet paper per week if you were staying more than a week. That's about enough to wipe myself for one day. I also observed police sitting outside the hotel several times in the time I was there. I would not have chosen that hotel in the first place, but I was relocating and didn't have much money. Looking for an apartment was taking longer than expected, and its hard to attend to your business customers when you're tent camping. How I wish I had just stayed camping. Months later, and I still can't get rid of them after I moved into a house!

Motel Hell a ready made David Lynch movie set
By Rent A Gent, 9/22/09
From the outside it looks like a hurricane hit and Brownie had come to the rescue. There is debris and garbage strewn about from ill-advised attempts to "fix the place up." When we got inside, we thought we had taken a nightmarish trip into a David Lynch film. Foul does not even begin to describe it. We slept uncomfortably in the lumpy bed and took care to leave our socks on when our feet hit the carpet. In the morning when I tiptoed reluctantly along a carefully laid path of scratchy towels into the shower, I pulled the ancient curtain closed and a puff of acrid dried mold wafted from it onto my nude body. The thought of it makes me shudder even now. I washed it off thoroughly in the cold cold water that was all that came out of the broken shower head. When I got out and began to dress, I told my husband that he did NOT need to take a shower. This is the second worse hotel I have ever stayed in- and I am a musician: I have stayed in some dives. Only a notorious hotel in Fossil was worse...

Do NOT stay at this dirty place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/08
on two occasions i have stayed here for a week at a time. The rooms are filthy! ie: cigarette butts under bed, toilets were visibly dirty in bowl and stains from liquids running down walls etc. No maid service showed up not even one day during both weeks and their excuse each time being she is off today. Sheets were never changed and we had to beg for clean ones to change ourselves and for clean towels or toilet paper. I truly believe that the room was never cleaned nor bedding changed before we were even given the key upon check in. This place is definately not up to health regulations and i myself will be sending a report to hospitality industry

Would not return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/15/06
Was at Bayside Motor Inn for 2 nights, as I was in town for a conference. I had to pay in advance, not at checkout. Concerns are below. 1. In the drawer was food and pills left by a previous occupants. 2. Old soap and stains in the bathroom under the counter. 3. Shower curtain was stained and dirty 4. Coffee pot, but no coffee, no filters, and no cup to drink from if you were to buy coffee to make. 5. Cord from the air conditionier was haning and touching the baseboard heater. That is a big fire hazzard. Socket not fully covered. 6. Chair and drapes, faded, and worn. 7. I had to air out the room, as the strong amonia smell gave me a terrible headache. (Very Very strong). 8. Door in back to other room boarded to styrifoam? 9. No paper towels Brick ceilings???? 10. Service questionable, when spoke to them about the old food and the dangerous cords, did not get much of a response. I said the cords needed to be lifted off the heater so I could use the heater, and they said, "I don't know what to do about that" I had to ask them to come to my room to look at it, but they had no solution, so I asked for rubber bands to tie them up. I think I should get the pay for that maintenance. 11. at 2:00 AM the first night we had to listen for about 1 hour the neighbors drinking and sex life outside my window. I had a 12 year old girl with me. I had to tell them several times to move or be quieter. at about 3:30 they then locked themselves out of the room, and were loud and trying to get in. I again had to get up and go out to get them to be quiet. Me, woman alone with child. Second night that room was empty. One star is too generous. I would give it a minus 5. Unsanitary, fire hazzard, lack of any kind normal things, etc. I would recommend this to no one.
