Not what we paid for!
By Bettye O, 6/7/09
This was our second visit to the lodge. When we got to the room it was about 80 F in the room, so we opened windows doors & cranked up the A/C, but it took untill almost midnight to cool down. The rooms and all are very clean as well as the jet tub. The bed though was the worst bed I have ever slept in or should I say tried to sleep in. It was so worn that the sides were high and the middle was sunken. My husband and I had to hold on to the sides of the bed so as not to roll into the center. The head end was also higher so it made for a very uncomfortable night. My husband woke up with a very stiff neck. This was in Room 9 overlooking the big sign in front of the building. Upon leaving I mentioned the terrible bed to the person at the desk and didn't receive as much as an apology, but she mentioned that they were thinking of replacing some of the beds. For me that was not good enough. When you go to a place to rest and hopefully sleep and you pay good money for it and have the worst bed you've ever slept in that's not good enough.

Wonderful start to our honeymoon
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/06
We were treated royally in 1990 for our wedding night. We've returned there several times and tried out many rooms. We love eating there also. For breakfast they would play Smoky Mountain music. It was awesome Sunday morning music - and perfect for the rustic setting.

Lovely gem of a lodge!
By Rachelle, 11/13/05
I love this place! Have stayed here twice on romantic getaways with my husband. It's only 30 minutes from where we live but it feels like a world away. Built like a log cabin, the rooms are all fabulously decorated in the "mountain lodge" theme with each one having it's own special color scheme. Several rooms have jacuzzi tubs in the room, log poster beds, wooden rockers, and balconies. Being such a small lodge, it's very private and you feel very special as one of the few guests in your unique getaway room. Especially fabulous on Sunday mornings is the huge brunch/buffet located in the attached restaurant downstairs. I highly recommend this lodge for it's value and uniqueness!
