Green paint on door, chipped toilet seat, looked like dried blood stain on mattress and bed pad. Took pictures and gave to person (possible owner) behind the desk. Did not offer refund. Turning matter over to health department. Was not offered refund.
Front desk Clerk was Courteous, friendly and helpful. The elevator to the 3rd floor was very helpful. The oceon view was panoramic. It was very quiet during the night so we could rest. The room was hardly one that I would put a guest into. Upon opening the door, windows are wide open with wind blowing fiercely through the room. The door almost slammed shut on us. No rubber grips on bottom of door. I rolled up a towel so we would not have a draft and flys coming into our room. They are huge in Long Beach. That was our air conditioner. That night I used individual hand wipes and hand sanitizer to clean with. Bathroom tub and toilet seat were dirty. The next day I went and bought a bottle of bleach. Freezer in the frig was overdue for a defrosting with liquid stains frozen into the ice. I defrosted it for the owner. The sheets were old, a hole in the bottom sheet with little balls from the flannel. I hoped it had been changed. I was so afraid we would bring bed bugs home. 5 AM Coffee pot is broken so coffee piles up and spills out over the top. Clean that up. Need toilet paper and kleenex.I felt like the Inn Helpers are under extreme pressure to keep cost at a minimum. Next time I would bring my own sheets, pillows, vacuum and cleaning materials. It was a good Inn for a 3rd world country, kite flying, shopping etc. Being an adventurous forgiving person, I may go back. Oh yes, I did leave a tip for the maid as I think she needs encouragement to get another job where she can get all of the work done in a day. I should have tipped the front desk clerk also. It could be worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Third floor room overlooks the beach alright. But that beach is 2/3 of a mile off. Sleeper couch had dried food dribbling off the corner arm rest. Very spartan furnishings with the majority of the room being one long vast, unfurnished hallway leading to a bathroom dressing area that makes no sense. No blow dryer or complimentary shampoo/conditioner. The staff appears overwhelmed and the hotel has ongoing construction going on. I would not choose this hotel again simply because the price does not merit the amenities available. Please, do not stay here.
We have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years in October to celebrate my parents anniversay. We have an illness in the family called to cancel and reschedule and they said their system was down that was almost a week ago and they never called to confirm. When I just called and confirmed it is still down and the owner operator was very rude and hung up on me. I will never stay at this place again. He bought this place a couple of years ago and it has gone down hill. READ all the reviews for the past couple of years.
The staff was was very inattentive and very unprofessional in their demeanor. A front desk clerk was covered in green paint, wore a hooded sweat jacket and flip flops. The green paint was everywhere. Stairs, walls, floor, carpets; it was a mess. At $132 a night, it was not worth it, but the only room available in town, and hence the price. Avoid this pit of despair if you can.
Oh where to start!!! First I am not a hotel snob, give me a nice, clean room for only one night and I am happy. But this was not acceptable to anyone's standards. I was not happy that my credit card was billed weeks before out stay, I have stayed at many hotels and have never been charged for a room I have not stayed in yet. Check in time is 3pm, but our room was not ready until 5pm, we had to wait in a family members room and were 2 hours late for the memorial service reception we came for. We were told that if we didn't like it, we could go some place else, but since they had already charged our credit card, the rest of our famly was staying there and we were already late, we had no other choice.
Once we got into our room it was still dirty, the toilet was filthy, there was no hand towels or toilet paper, and spots on the floor had not even been vacuumed. We complained and the front desk clerk said he would clean the toilet. Not until we returned late into our room did we see that it was cleaned, but poorly.
The worst part really was the attitude of the employees, like they were put out that we complained, never really apologized and appeared too overwhelmed to handle simple tasks.
I would never stay here again, nor reommend it to anyone.
The desk clerks barely spoke while checking us in. They were busy with their laptops & talking on their cell phones.
Our room (#107) had an unpleasant odor that we noticed right as we entered the room. We should have left then but decided that since it was just for one night, we could put up with it. The television remote did not function, there was no guest directory & no telephonebook in the room. The chairs that acconpanied the table did not match each other & in fact one was a wooden folding lawn chair! The topper was that the toilet was broken.
We noticed this at approximtely 9:00 p.m. The desk clerk came to mop up the mess & assured us it was corrected. The same thing happened again at 11:00 p.m. but this time the office was closed, there was no one on duty & no emergency contact. The office shuts up tight at 10:00 p.m. We had to shut the water off at the wall & use our towels to clean up the water. The issue was that the tank &/or pipes were broken. It had obviously happened more than once based on water makes on the wood trim.
We checked out the next morning and advised the desk manager of the issue. She became very defensive but she offered a a 20% discount on our next stay. I told her that we would not be returning and therfore the future discount had no value to me, She asked, "well, what is it you want?". I asked for a refund and to speak to the owner. She would not provide the owners name but I believe she called them She returned, and without a word, shoved a refund slip at me. She never did acknowledge the problem or apologize. She ordered us to leave "her" lobby or she would call someone. She also told us that she did not respond well to yelling or being criticized and implied everything was our fault for not notifying her in the first place. All in all a most bizarre and unpleasant experience. I will recommend to anyone that they stay far far away from this place
I recently stayed at Cedars Ocean View Inn in Longbeach, WA. Every thing about our stay was great. From the service to the location to the continental breakfast. The staff at the front desk made us feel like we were at home, they were courteous and helpful! The location was amazing, we has a panoramic view of the beach from our very own room!! And we were in walking distance of the museum, restaurants and even a mini grocery store!
Desk clerks were more than helpful, you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. View was excellent, the room was freshly decorated, with beautiful, new carpeting, and clean as could be. We slept peacefully, and in the morning enjoyed an excellent breakfast. It took us just a few minutes to walk to the beach, or to the center of downtown Long Beach, and the quaint shops there. We will definitely return!
