Home Town Hospitality

While this motel was clean, comfortable, affordable and quite, it was the service and hospitality that prompted me to write this review. My wife and I initially wanted to stay in Long Beach, however, we failed to make reservations and could not find any available rooms. Thus, we traveled two miles south to Ilwaco to continue our search. Ilwaco is a beautiful little town that is not full of the "tourist trap" stores, but is full of local people and caters/embraces its history as a fishing village rather than tranforming to a mini-Long Beach. Col-Pacific Motel was the last of three motels that we stopped at (to view rooms and inquire about prices) and while the price was within four or five dollars of the others, the rooms were obviously much cleaner than the other two. Thus, we stayed and let me tell you, the service (conversation, knowledge of the area, recommendation for dining, activities, etc.) was EXCELLENT. While my wife and I spent much time in Long Beach, we looked forward to returning to the small town of Ilwaco and the comfort of our room (away from the hordes of people/children that congest the streets of Long Beach). My wife and I highly recommend this motel and are dumbfounded as to how it is rated #8? Give it a try if you are looking for a motel experience that actually enhances your vacation!
