Way too expensive for the little that you do get
Motel is family owned and operated.
If you're looking to stay just a few days it's better to check into the Holiday Inn or Comfort Inn. The Viking is one of the only in the area with weekly rates (in 2010 that was $150/wk) which is a good deal if you're desperate (like I was).
But I did like staying there for the 6 weeks I was there. My room had a microwave (and I think a dorm-fridge), two beds, sink, shower, toilet ~ all good.
The worst thing has to be the phone system ~ you cannot directly dial a room; you have to go through the front desk. Usually that's not a problem anywhere else, but with the Viking it's almost impossible to get ANYONE at the front desk, especially after 5pm, AND there is no automated (or computer) system in place for reaching the room if the front desk doesn't answer. If the person you're trying to reach doesn't have a cell phone, you're screwed. :)
