Edgecliff Motel, Lincoln City

The manager was rude to me and my wife! Please do not ruin your vacation or waste your money! DO NOT RUIN YOUR VACATION OR STAY HERE! We are here now and are being treated our stay is an inconvenience to the owner. The vending machines ate my money and when I reported it to the desk clerk he told me it was not his problem!!! They called our room and sternly asked my wife if we needed room service or not. She paused because she wasn't sure and he yelled it at her repeating the question. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!

Warning about deceptive and dishonest business practices - please consder staying somewhere else even if it costs a bit more (trust me it is worth it) Have been going to the coast for 30 years. Stayed a lot of places. Never at edgecliff (although had been to ester lee many times and my grandma used to live down the hill from them). We wanted to stay in Lincoln City an extra day, so booked a 2 bedroom condo for 1 night. Got there, the room was smelly, uncomfortable, and in disrepair (I would not trust any of the linens or dishes in that place either) so we asked if they had a different room...they offered a 1 bedroom (for 3 separate adults and one dog) upstairs, which was not suitable for several reasons, including inadequate sleeping areas, and so we told them we were going to just leave. They then proceeded to rudely tell us that they were keeping a $50 cancellation fee, even though we had just arrived, and repeatedly accused my mother of lying when she said that she was never told about this fee (if you met her you would know she tells the truth). Note, this fee is not listed on the website either. While I went out to the car, they hastily posted something on the wall stating their policy. When I told them the room was unacceptable and smelly, the manager just smirked at me. When I asked the name of the owner he refused to tell me. This was the worst experience I have ever had at the coast, or in any of my travels. The dishonesty and rudeness we were treated with was very upsetting. We already have complained to the Chamber of Commerce, and will be filing complaints with BBB and disputing the $50 charge. I told them I would be doing all of this, and they just smirked (well the girl at the desk said "I'm going out to smoke" and walked away). Motel 6 would be better than this place.

We stayed here for a weekend and were impressed with the quality of the rooms. I cant begin to describe the incredible view from my suite. The sound of the waves just put me to sleep. It was like paradise. Will be back soon.

This place has a wonderful view of the ocean, in-room Jacuzzi, and a full kitchen. We went grocery shopping and just hung out and made our own meals while we cozied up to the view. The kitchen was great because we not only saved money but we could snack whenever we wanted to. The bed really comfortable. I didnt even have to book in advance they gave me a nice room as a walk in guest. Be sure you get a room with a jacuzzi. We love the Lincoln City - Depoe Bay areas for ease of access from Portland area and its quaint character. Two of our favorite restaurants have re-located to Lincon City so despite the cold, wet weather we were happy honey-mooners!

We had a great view of the beach from the porch and the living room. We had a fire going in the fire place. We had separate sleeping area from the kitchen and living room. It was quiet even though it was right off the highway. The service was friendly. Our dog loved to run on the beach. We took lots of pictures and have lifelong memories. Thanks! I'll be back.

We had a two room condo and it was horrible! Our feet became black just from walking on the floors. The bathroom was dirty. Many of the outlets and some lights did not work. The fireplace did not work. The toilet ran and flooded when we weren't in there. When I went to the office to report it, they handed me a plunger and a bunch of rags to clean it. They called their maintenance guy, who did not want to come up right away "because he was on the beach having fun." Instead of the owner (or manager?) walking to my room to take care of it, they expected me to clean it up until their guy showed up to "fix" the situation. He didn't fix it, just said we have to jiggle the handle...we figured that out, too late!

This is the worst hotel that I have stayed in in fifty years! Fleas, filth, bad plumbing, paper thin walls. We asked for none smoking and got one that had smoke pouring in the walls all night long. We were there for three days and I couldn't wait to leave and take another shower at home. The price was ridiculious, for $145. The beds where so bad that we had to get mattress pads for our own beds. They gave us a hard time because we wanted sheets and pillows for the hidaway. No paper towels, or t.p had to get my own. They also miss represented the room and motel, with pictures and over the phone. I am going to turn them in to the chamber. What a discrace. Also got flea bites and no sleep for three nights. We tried desperately to find another place to stay, but everything was booked up, in the surrounding areas.

We stayed for 3 weeks while we were looking for a place to live. Location is wonderful. Kitchen was well stocked and firepalce worked very well. We were in an older unit, so it wasn't shiny and new, but very comfortable. They allow pets.

We checked in and they gave us a room that was filthy. Had not been vacumned and the pillows had not cases on them and they were stained. The sheets were dirty. We went to the desk and checked out 20 minutes later. Would not want any body to stay there. It should be closed down for all the filth.
