Wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/11
We arrived in West Yellostone around 2:00pm was going to sleep in car at campground in park but they were all full, so we went back to town to find a motel. Ther were lots of vacancies but way to expensive. We decided to go out of town to find a place and as we were leaving we seen Wispering Pines Motel stop in had one cabin left. It was $88.00 dollars a nite we took it and it could not have been a better place. It had a Microwave, large minifrige, 20" TV. The place was very clean, bathroom recently remodeled, beds were comfortable, A great place to lay down, take a shower, relax on the porch. Planning on going back to Yellowstone this fall (2011) already booked. This place is a No Frills place. All attractions in West Yellowstone are close by. Real close to the park entrance, you can go out the back of the property and take a right and miss all the downtown stuff, redlights, and traffic to HWY 20 take a left straight to entrence to the park.

Better than sleeping in the car
By mirg15, 9/23/10
9/11/2010 Got there on a wkend which is a bad idea. There were no vacancies in town except for some ultra expensive places. The Whispering Pines had one cabin left and not knowing what was on down the road we took it. We got two rooms with 1 queen and 1 regular size bed. The room was musty and my wife had to take an allergy pill, we opened all the windows and that helped some. The rooms were so small you could hardly turn around, there was no place to open our suitcases and you had to duck under the tv to get to one side of a bed. The one closet had a dresser in it so there was no place to hang clothes besides bar soap no amenities were furnished. The mattress was comfortable enough but the box springs creaked at the slightest movement. The heater made the small cabin way too warm so we left it off even tho the temp dropped to 23 degrees that night. Our cabin didn't have a nice porch to sit on but we were only there to sleep and we did get a fairly good nights sleep. The price $70+ for three adults was a bargain considering the location and season.

Great Place For a Rest Stop
By Bill in Illinois, 7/24/09
Arrived with no reservation and The Whispering Pines was the last available place in town and personally, I really enjoyed my stay. We had a 3-room cabin with full beds in 2-rooms and a twin in the 3rd room for $88 a night. No air conditioner, but open the windows and the cool mountain air more than takes care of that problem. Location and price were great, not in congested area, but close enough to walk if you wanted to do so. Only thing I disliked was the bathroom was small and the shower floor tile was under repair. If I am ever in the West Yellowstone area again I would stay at the Whispering Pines Motel again. The cabins added a sense of adventure to our trip and it was actually fun staying in a cabin instead of a regular hotel like the Hilton or Holiday Inn. If you stay there say hello to the manager, Mr. Buck...he's 89 years old and a great person!

We were Lucky!
By smiles, 8/21/07
It was the last reasonable priced place to stay in town. I was really concerned because of no air conditioning, but I always travel with a small fan. So we opened the windows and turned on the fan (only three plug-ins in the cabin). When we returned from exploring the town that night the cabin was comfortable. The bath room was very small, but met our needs. Although we had TV, we sat out on the porch and star gazed. If I am ever able to go out west again I will stay at West Yellowstone and hopefully at the Whispering Pines!!!

Best Kept Secret
By Daniel H, 9/5/06
This place was amazing. It was pet friendly. Not enough can be said about staying in these warm fully accomodating cabins up here. This will always be the place I pick. They were extremely reasonably price. We payed 45 per night during the Memorial Day Weekend. You can't beat that.
