Cedar Wood Inn, Deadwood

My husband and I recently spent the night here and were pleasantly surprised at the nice room we had. It was wonderful, roomy and the bath was very nice. I would recommend it to anyone headed for Deadwood. It is close enough to walk to the Downtown area and back. There is also a trolley that will pick you up and bring you back to your motel for $1/person.

I really think you must have mistaken the name of the place you stayed...there is no way that any room in the Cedarwood could deserve a rating like that!! This is one of the nicest, cleanest, privately owned motels in Deadwood, and has been this way since as long as I have known about it, and believe me I have known it for "YEARS & YEARS" & in all of that time, it has been in the same family!!! Again, I think you have it confused with another place, as that just can't be true!

The shower curtain in the bathroom smelled so bad it had to be changed. The bathroom in #11 is so small you literally cannot open the door without climbing over the toilet. This room appears to be a converted porch, squeaking floor boards and all. Picture with french doors looks appealing but in reality this room is a dump.There is no vanity area in the bath and no mirror in the main room. Search for the light switch in bath and the only outlet is taken up by the hair dryer. Coffee maker is a joke. No screen on the one window that opens. Continental breakfast is also a joke. The price for one night including taxes is $143. and a rip off even by Deadwood standards.

we will be back spent a week there,its clean its relaxing we came from az.on our harley,gordon was great in telling us where to ride the place was clean well kept,and we miss it already im gonna tell it like it is you wont find a better placed to stay in deadwood,the owners care its a fine place so take it from BOB AND DONNA this is the place you want to stay and you will enjoy ,,,,,

We liked everything about Cedar Wood Inn. As I said we have stayed 6 years in a row. Gordy and Audrey have a wonderful place for travelers to stay,it is just like home. The rooms are very,very,very clean,and if you do have a complaint Gordy takes of it,but once you stay at the Cedar Wood Inn,I don 't see how you could possibly not enjoy your visit.We are already booked for next year.All I can say,is if you want to feel as if you are sleeping at home,Cedar Wood Inn is the place to be. see you in July.Larry and Barbara

MY WIFE AND I HAVE JUST SPENT TWO WEEKS VACATION. THREE DAYS IN THE CEDER INN. I WOULD RECAMEND ANY ONE TO STAY.IT WAS CLEAN THE COUPLE THAT RUN IT WAS MOST HELPFUL, THERE WAS BUS INTO TOWN BUT IT WAS A NICE WALK DOWN THE HILL ,BUS BACK, GREAT PLACE.

My husband and I vacationed in Deadwood for four days and were very impressed with the landscaping and cleanliness of the entire hotel. Personally, I've never gotten our woodwork at home to have this kind of rich shine! The shower is hot and strong. The owner very nice and helpful and a trolly stops directly in front of the hotel to take you into town if that's what you want. We found we were so close that we just drove about 5 min and then had our car to continue on to other S.D. sights.We would definitely come back to this hotel and I will recommend it to all my friends.The price was very good as well and I checked out a lot of places online before going with this one.

This motel is AMERICONA at its best! Small business that takes pride in there establishment. It may not have the perks of a CHAIN motel but the establishment and owners will leave you with a feeling of what made this country so great!

We stay here every chance we get on our way from North Dakota to Arizona, on the way down and on the way back....Love that cedar and very very clean

Absolutely lovely, very clean, easy parking, quiet and close, but not too close to the Main Street Casinos. I would highly recomend a stay here.
