Wilderness on the Lake, Wisconsin Dells

My husband and my two boys (12 year old and a 15 year old boy) drove out to the Dells for Spring Break with the Wilderness on the Lake as our destination. It was the best time ever and if possible, we would have stayed longer than the 5 days we had booked. While the weather was not the best outside, we never even knew it with the warm temperature inside and all the fun we were having. At night, we were able to enjoy the wonderful 3 bedroom condo with the Lake view. Talk about gorgeous!!! The condos all the things we needed to enjoy breakfasts and dinners in our own home. A few nights we walked over to the patio area and grilled. While our hamburgers were searing, we sat in front of the fire pit! Each of the boys got their own spacious room with their own TV. It was great and can't wait to go back once the boys are out of school. Next time we will be taking some close friends to share the fun and the experience!

My first experience of The Wilderness, was not the best. Unfortunately upon arriving in the villa, we noticed that it was not 100% clean. Secondly, there was burnt out light bulbs, broken blinds and missing things from the kitchen. For the rate at which they charge for these villas, they should be almost immaculate and completely set-up. Also, believe or not, we had a problem in our room which needed immediate attention. It took us calls to the front desk just to get someone to come out to our room. Then when they did, they never took care of the problem. The problem never went away and finally the next day we contacted the front desk again, and informed them of our problem. Again, they never responded and said that there was only 1 maintenance person for the entire grounds that night. If the problem had not needed immediate attention, I would not have cared. But the fact that a BAT had entered our room and had been flying around the villa and scarring the kids half to death WAS a problem. Finally, my husband and my girlfriends husband had to catch it themselves, at the risk of getting bit. Finally they caught it and about a half hour later the maintenance man finally showed up! We never got any resolution from the hotel. Also, there is no cleaning service for the villas unless you request it. And there is a shortage of shuttle drivers to get between water parks. If you are disabled or have a hard time walking from building to building, it becomes a problem. (My husband has recently injured his knee) Overall, the kids liked the different water parks, but it was too spread out. If it we never had any of these issues, it would have been a decent place to stay, but the fact that the hotel ignored our request for help, made me very mad!!! I think that it is extremely overpriced for the amenities!

our condo was great, spacious and had a jacuzzi large enough for 2 adults and 4 kids! it was clean and worth the money. the waterparks were fun and had lots of things to do. shuttle service was very convenient, although one driver was a little grumpy. i loved having the washer and dryer in the room! Soooo convenient!! (very small). the downfalls were, our vacuum didnt work and they said they'd bring one but never did. the t.v's were small, fuzzy and had a bouncy picture. it was hard to find a table at the water parks because it was soo crowded. you could here the people upstairs as if they were in the same room as you. their kids were jumping and opening the sliding doors over and over and slamming doors. i did call the room upstairs myself and they did quiet down. there is no claening service in the condos, except garbage removal and fresh towels, however they took towels and replaced them with fewer towels, i'm still worried we may get charged for missing towels..we'll see. they said linens would be changed after the fourth night, but they werent. we didnt complain because we had only one more night left. the dryers knob was loose and fell off often, you didnt know what setting you were putting on the loads, or for how long, it was turn and cross your fingers. also we had housekeeping walk in the room without knocking and a maintenance man who "needed to change the furnace filter" come in yelling "hello". so always lock your door from the inside so you dont get caught undressed or worse! some staff was a little rude, most were nice. Even worse yet, we had a nice digital camera stolen from our room by the housekeepers. were 200% sure it was them, it was place in a drawer after the batteries died, and when we went back 2 days later to put new batteries in-- it was gone! we searched every inch of the condo upon departure and it is gone! i did complain and they said they would call me back but so far i've heard nothing. we would stay here again, but we'd definately take better precautions next time!

Our room was not the one we reserved we were charged 40 dollars instead of 10 for an extra person the customer service was a nightmare!!! All they want is your money and will not listen to your needs! Atlantis was much better they will take care of you. Would never go back!

You should stay in a motel and save your money, for it being a condo they really need to insulate the ceilings, you can hear your neighbors above you, especially if they have children jumping around, and if you call management about the noise, they always seem to say they'll send someone up to talk to them. You think for the price you pay, you would at least have peace and quiet at 10 p.m. I'll never go back.

If you are a shuttle rider and do not mind packing up everything you need for the waterpark, then this is the place for you. We are not these kind of people and preferred the all inclusive area of the great wolf lodge that we stayed in last year. There are also no balconies so there is no walking out the door to smoke if you are a smoker. My husband is and there are only designated areas outside the building for smoking. The gift shop also said that there would be Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the morning, but they were never there. Nobody was ever working that gift shop. The doors were open and you could go in, but just not purchase. The arcade was about the best item in the building. It was reasonable and the prizes did not cost too many tickets. Another major downfall of this resort is no internet in the room, you have to go to the lobby only. The Great Wolf has it in the room. It you want more value for your condo experience, go to the Great Wolf or the Chula Vista, these are great places to stay. The Chula Vista may not have three water parks, but everything is in one building, the racing slides, 3 raft rides, lazy river, huge play area all in one building.

I LOVED this place because there waterpark was awsom even my parents wanted to go to the waterpark. It waas so much fun, their beds waere so comfotable and they were all so nice the whole time we were there! It was the best experience we had in Wisconsin Dells!

We just had a wedding ceremony at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center. April Glime, the wedding planner, was terrific. She did a great job of planning, and coordinating over 80 peoples rooms, as well, for a military stay prior to deployment. Altho, our 2 bedroom condo's over looking the lake (we had 6 rooms) were beautiful, and the maids were great with helping us. I should make it be known, that the staff at the front desk seemed to lack as much luster. The first night of our arrival, the girl at the front, desk, sighed when she had to get up to greet us. She was totally rude, and was not willing to help with any of our questions. The next day, I went to speak to the gentleman at the front desk, and it was a continuation, of lack of customer service. I am not sure, as to why, when EVERYONE, else, was totally helpful, the front desk staff, could not be bothered. We made sure the managers knew, that there staff, at the front desk was not courteous in anyway, and it seemed to make the attitude of them even worse. So in conclusion, I would recommend the resort, it is beautiful, and it was a very special memory. Thank you to the Wilderness for creating a great time had by all.

My family of four stayed at Wilderness on the lake in May of 2007. We had a 2 bedroom condo with kitchen, 2 fireplaces, 2 baths, and a jacuzzi. We loved the condo it was absolutely beautiful and very spacious. I would highly recommend the 2 bedroom condo's on the lake. We are looking forward to next year.

it is so nice, it is right on the lake. you can bbq and fish. you can also go swimming. The best part is the hot tub in the room with the fire place
