Disappointed
By Jan, 09/20/09
We had stayed a couple of years ago, but were less pleased this time. Room lacked refrigerator, microwave and clock radio which were listed in online description of room. Motel is just a short drive from business district, but we'll stay elsewhere next time.

This place has gone downhill.

The pool was out of order, there was no longer a restaurant, and the room had a chlorine smell. The furniture had stains on it and the pillows were very thin.

Let's Make a Deal????
By Chey, 08/04/08
The facilities were moderately clean. We were quoted one rate and charged another. Several members of our party were charged different rates. Office staff was questioned about rates but ENGLISH was less than fluent. The power to our unit was blown when we plugged a cellphone in to charge. A neighboring unit had its rental removed by the sherrif's department. Though surprisingly we had a quiet night. Pool was not useable, not clean and no water and advertised resturaunt was not open if it even existed. I would certainly not recommend this facility for any reason.

we would go back

The facility was clean and well maintained. The front desk people were pleasant over the phone and efficient. Location was good. Free breakfast good for price of the room. We would stay there again.

dont let the autumn inn ruin it for YOU!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/07
My partner and I stayed here last month (Jan.) and I can not begin to describe how awful it was! There was a very strong musty smell, and another strong smell coming from the mini-fridge. Our window did not open- so we could not air it out! There were popcorn kernels under one of the beds and a dark clump of hair in the shower drain!!!(that put the cherry on top). We tried to get our money back, but they would have none of that- terrible service!! I have stayed in dives before, but I did not expect anything like this, especially in vermont! (I still love VT) Stay at the Hampton- 5 minutes away or anywhere else!!

I would recommend anyone to stay here. It was lovely place with restaurant on the property. The rooms were very clean and the owners maintained it very well. Specially the matress was very comfortable seemed like they recently renoveted it. I was there for a family get together and would love to go back again next hear to stay there.

NEVER again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
This inn (it really is a dingy motel!) is awful. My wife and I stayed here in September and I really wish we had carefully reviewed places to stay in Bennington. One night in this place was enough! Our room smelled musty/smokey and there was no way to open the window to get rid of the odor. The owners do not do a very good job of cleaning the rooms. There were stains on the walls and carpets and the mirror was dusty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Our bed sheets had rust stains on them and I found the mattress uncomfortable to sleep in. I don't even want to mention how dirty the bathroom tile and area around the shower looked - horrid! We would have been better off spending the night in our car!

Stay anywhere but here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/06
I relied on some of the positive reviews here to guide us in our recent stay in Bennington. I found it odd that this Inn was not even listed in the Bennington Chamber of Commerce - and now I realize why. This place is awful. Our original room reaked of smoke and since smoke bothers me, we asked for another room. We were given another room a few doors down and it still stunk, though not as bad as the first room. The place was truly iky. We had to run to the local Dollar Tree to disinfect the place and no amount of room deodorizer spray would get rid of the stetch. The walls were dirty and nasty, the bedding was old and stinky and the bathroom was a germ infested zone. Even had to wear flip flops in the bathtub, there was no way my feet was touching that tub! I've traveled a lot and I've never stayed in a place as stinky and nasty as this one. Couldn't beat the rate but if I had to do it over again, I'd have spent the money on better lodging. The last time we were in Bennington we stayed at the Paradise Motor Inn and I really wish I had stayed there again. There are lots of really great places to stay in Bennington - please, please pass up on staying at the Autumn Inn.

Ick!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/06
I found this inn (really motel) to be incredibly dreary. I would not go back and would not recommend it to others. The room smelled of a musty/smokey mixture, the walls were dirty, the carpet was nasty, and the bed spreads looked to be too many years old.
