El Patio Motel, Erie

Pulled in and nothing but one big party, everyone seems to know everyone here, this is the 1st motel I've been to that everyone knows each other. People drinking everywhere, people walking out of rooms with alcohol, people going from one room to the other. Loud music playing as if you were at a rock concert. Rooms are disgusting, stains on the floors, shower had body hair all through it not to mention hole in the shower wall, bathroom sink had fly's all over it, mold and scum in the bathroom. Gathered up our stuff and got out immediately. Didn't even stay long enough to put our belongings away or for that matter put anything down on any of their stuff..

Recently told a friend familiar with the Erie area of our intentions of staying here. Arrived and was greeted with a stench that was undescribable. The room was filthy, carpets soiled as were the bed linens and spread. A fridge was available but did not work as did the outdated air conditioner. The electric outlets were at a premium. After lights and TV are plugged in do not look for an extra outlet. A single window provided the cooling on the first day. Towels and ice were rationed. This is fair warning,venture at your own risk, unless you practice your survivor skills.

Not sure what prompted the folks who gave this place a good review to do so, but I will NEVER stay at this motel! We walked in looking for a place to stay without reservations and the office smelled like a bar (by the way, there is one attached to the end of the motel called the Choo-Choo and is known for trouble from time to time per an Erie resident I spoke to) and had a musty odor . We asked to be shown an empty room, and almost immediately upon entering the room, we noticed that same musty smell. There was only one small window in the entire room and it was dark and gloomy as a result. We walked out and said "No thank you!", preferrring to rather stay in our car if we had to than to lodge there! We ended up right down the street at the Riviera Motel (WONDEFUL PLACE!) instead. This motel might be located right at the entry to Presque Isle State Park, but it isn't worth it just for location's sake! GROSS!

Stayed here in the spring of 08,,and will never be going again...Mold in the bathroom,,80 degrees out and they have the AC turned off cause they felt it wasnt warm enough to turn it on,,eventhough the staff had the AC blowing in the office. Very loud after hours with the bar located on the property,,,but if they had AC units maybe you wouldnt hear all the noise while trying to sleep. All around a terrible place!

Where can I begin..... I was with a large group and we were all seperated. The review I read before my stay claimed the rooms have clock radios. Well they didn't and we needed up super early. They do do wake up calls though. The beds didn't have a cover over the box spring. The rooms were in need of light repairs here and there. The air conditioner was straight out of the 60's but still ran well. Our bathroom window didn't lock, nor did other peoples' bathroom window locks out of our group. Our toilet ran constantly. On our second night a group of contractors stayed at the motel and kept half the motel up late into the night making noise and being obnoxiously drunk. Some in our group were awaken in the early morning hours by loud knocking on their door. When checked on no one was around. I would not recommend this motel and will not be staying there again. I also found the room to be slightly filthy. One of the bathroom towels looked as though it was used to clean up dirt and then placed back onto the rack. The sheets weren't exactly bright white. The pillows were comfy though.

A black and filthy mouse showed up in my room!! I had to scare it and it left. Needless to say that the hotel cleanness is non-existent! When I complained they did not do anything! Worst hotel ever! DO NOT BOOK IT. The mouse is still there and you might get it.

I have stayed here twice. First time in 2006 in the main building on the second floor. It was very cheap, I think 40.00. The room had a bedroom and a separate living room with couch microwave and fridge. It was clean and decently decorated. Second stay was in one of the buildings off to the side. Inside the rooms look like something out of the 1970's. Dirty, stained ceilings that are coming down. It smelled musty and felt like we were in an old basement. Bathroom was pretty clean though. The property is very nice, there picnic tables and some grills, big clean pool, restaurant and bar on property. Very close to presque isle, waldamere park, shopping, and lots of other activities. Good value, if you stay in the main building.

was not too impressed with this place... bathroom was pretty filthy i felt disgusted even standing in the shower. There was no air conditioning. I didn't feel particularly safe either... will not be staying again... staff was friendly though and pool was really nice

I had the unfortunate experience of staying at this motel on April 26th. Never stay here. Mold everywhere. You are unable to regulate water temperature in the showers. Mattress worn to the grown. Glasses are unclean at the bar. Walls are paper thin. Utterly a horrible experience.

Read reviews prior to our July 2007 stay was very skeptical, but all in all it wasn't bad. The price was good location excellent. The bathroom could use some updates, but we sat outside until wee hours of the morning and were never yelled out. The staff very friendly even let us check in earlier that what we had expected too. Everyone's taste is different if you want the best pay more and get farther away from the beach. Afterall, that is why we all go there, right?
