Horrible Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/07
The mattress was concave and hard: you could feel the springs waiting to bust out. the towels provided were like kitchen rags. there was hair stuck on the bathroom wall. It smelled like cigarette smoke. No warning given to customers about the two channels of continuous hardcore porn. One of the windows was open and there were overgrown weeds going into the room. Overall, it was pathetic.

For those who like oddities, old timey stuff, and kitsch lovers, here's your motel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/06
The Patio Motel is a good 'ol faithful. In an age where everything has gone upscale and we're obsessed with clearing away everything unseemly to sanitize everything, it's good to have a motel like the Patio. The sign is fantastic - a real classic. And the outdated, ugly decor with an air of unseemliness even, that makes it even better. If you check into this place with a fedora hat on it makes you feel like you're in Eisenhower administration, on the lam from the law. Anyway, it's not as seedy as it looks, and it is a great value, close to some of the best the northside has to offer. Reasonable rates, and a great budget value at an era where all hotels seem to shooting for the luxury tag. When I go to a city, I want more money to spend on actually doing stuff than wasting it on some marginal, almost-barely upgrades. Combine that with my weakness for kitsch and you have a winner. Incidentally I've stayed here twice and both times I swept the room with one of the UV light detectors and didn't find any "strange" stains, if you catch my drift. That seals the deal for me!
