Winema Lodge, Tulelake

Winema lodge is truly a lodge experience. Tucked below Sheepy Ridge and between Lower Klamath and Tule Lakes, it's rustic accomodations are steeped in tradition. A destination for waterfowlers for decades, it also serves as the perfect base for exploring all the Modoc region has to offer! The adjacent motel offers quiet, private, and affordable rooms. Or, there is the option of the "bunk house" experience, several rooms with multiple beds which easily accomodate tour groups or the seasonal hunter. A large living room area boasts a rock fireplace, complete with large screen television, poker and pool table, and a camp style dining room. I have grown up returning annually to Winema Lodge for nearly 20 years and no doubt it will continue to be a destination for me and my family. Though we return for the fall hunting, Tule Lake and the surrounding area should seriously be considered for year round activities including bird watching, Native American history and geology, to mention just a few. The view from atop the ridge is worth the trip!
