One of the most romantic places
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/08
We are so glad we found this charming, romantic Inn. It was a highlight of our trip to the east coast. They know the perfect balance between being extreemly friendly and yet still give privacy. Each room we saw had it's own warm feel. We loved haveing our own jacuzzi tub in our room. We would love to go back and definately recomend it to anyone.

The Very Very Best
By beth, 03/23/08
El and Bill give the kind of service that shows they really truly care about what they do. They also care about their job performance. I can't think of the last time I spent money and felt like the owner of the business cared about me. I have been to other Select Registry locations recently since my stay at Jacob Hill and they didn't stack up to my experience with Bill and El. The maid service must have come into my room at least twice a day and attended to all kinds of details that really made the difference. I didn't realize what a difference all this made until I stayed at another Select Registry hotel and found the service wasn't up to the level I had with Bill and El. I actually thought of Jacob Hill and thought wistfully of my time there. Also- be sure to ask Bill for a restaurant recommendation. He is champion when it comes to that! I plan to go back with my husband.

Another great stay at Historic Jacob Hill Inn!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/08
We just returned from our fourth stay at Jacob Hill Inn and the magic is still there! This is the perfect place to relax and renew! Bill and El are great people and they really make you feel "at home". Nothing is too much trouble for them to do to ensure that you have a great stay. They are very helpful in making dinner reservations and helping with travel suggestions, arrangments and directions. The Inn is immaculate and very welcoming. We have "our favorite suite" that is our home away from home. The multi-course breakfast is delicious and varies each day. The staff is friendly and efficient. The location is perfect for day trips in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We look forward to stay number five!

Perfection
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/08
We have stayed at Jacob Hill Inn several times. We keep coming back because it is just perfect. The innkeepers, Bill and Eleanora, are wonderful. They are attentive and engaging but also know when to disengage. Not at all "overpowering" as suggested by a previous reviewer. The Inn and Barn are fantastic accomodations. The suites are wonderfully decorated (We've stayed in all of them!!) and it is very, very clean. Breakfast is delicious. The grounds and setting beautiful. You feel like you are in the country, yet only ten minutes from downtown Providence! The awards Jacob Hill has won are all well deserved. We will keep coming back again and again.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/08
I don't even know where to begin.... this Bed & Breakfast was the most wonderful one we have ever been to. Have been to a couple others in the area but none compare. The Inn keepers were warm & welcoming, the food was fabulous & the rooms are absolutely beautiful. The grounds are beautifully manicured with very peaceful & relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I have decided to spend every anniversary there.

Awful for the money$$$
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/08
The innkeepers are very nice and they mean well but they are a bit over powering. I mean coming outside before we get out of the car. A bit over the top. The inn was clean and the food was good but the price was over 300 per night. Next time we will stay cloer to Providence too... the drive time was at least 20 minutes to Providence. If you want value well look elsewhere.

New Engalnd's Best
By ray, 03/14/07
Historic Jacob Hill Inn has become our favorite destination in New England. All of the suites are immaculate and beautifully decorated. One of our favorites is the Nantucket with its two fireplaces and double jacuzzi. The innkeepers, Eleonora and Bill, are outstanding. They greeted us upon arrival with warmth and gave us a wonderful tour of this wonderful inn and completely restored barn. They proved to be knowledgeable about local points of interest and restaurants. They truly make every effort to make each stay perfect in every way. There is no better place to relax and get away from it all.

Refuge and Peace in a Unique Setting
By Paul, 03/08/07
Wow! As an escape from the hustle and hassle of city life, it was recommended that I take a trip to Jacob Hill. What I found at the inn was much better than I could have imagined. An incredible inn in an incredible setting with an incredible staff. Close enough to the city but far enough to feel away from it. Truly beautiful, pristine and unspoiled. Upon return to the inn, there was a welcome, warmth and charm that is seldom found in a commercial establishment. It was like being received into the home of generous, old friends – who just happen to know how to live really well. Gracious and informative but never intrusive, the staff and innkeepers at Jacob Hill provided the perfect mix of hospitality, guidance on area attractions and comforting space to enjoy all the wonders at my own pace. And then there was the food. First class cuisine served in a comfortable and convivial setting made from fresh, local ingredients and served with fantastic wines. Nothing could have made this trip more enjoyable or more relaxing.

Our home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/07
My husband and I have stayed at Jacob Hill at least 12 times over the last 10 years. It is hard to explain the wonderful feeling when we pull up to this B & B. When we see Bill and Eleanora's face, it is like seeing family. They are the most wonderful innkeepers that you can possibly ask for in a B & B. It truly is a home away from home. We have had the pleasure of staying at the inn for a number of Thanksgivings. It is such a wonderful time~~~great food, great fun, great friends. The inn is wonderful place to get away. It is beautifully decorated. The rooms are uniquely decorated. The common rooms are warm and inviting. We would recommend this inn to everyone and we have.

A jewel of a place
By Sue, 01/31/07
The Inn at Jacob Hill is perfection and was created with love. It is a joy to stay there, especially for the annual Thanksgiving feast. It is impeccable in decor, cleanliness, and service. Bill and Eleonora are the perfect hosts; one feels like one is visiting family. Though we usually stay in the winter, as our son attends Brown University, a short drive away, we are looking forward to a summer visit so we could make use of the lovely pool and magnificent grounds. We have already advanced booked for the weekend of our son's graduation; we wouldn't stay anywhere else!
