I would never stay there again
By Naresh, 10/31/10
I had to leave the road because of late night and so I find this creepy hi-ho motor inn. i don't understand that the receipt says merritt parkway motor inn but the board say hi-ho parkway. i paid $90 for nothing. there is a heater with broken knobs no markings on the panel to adjust the temperature. some how i adjusted the temperature(at least i thought) and i ended up very hot by the morning. No hot water in the sinc. I wanted to take bath but I couldn't fill the tub with water becuase there is no stopper. It's just wast of money.

My mistake
By John, 2/21/09
Overpriced, stale smelling, poorly maintained rooms. Heat is not controlled by a thermostat but is either all the way on or off. Has a restaurant and package store in the building so traffic all the time. No parking specific to rooms. If you have to leave for any reason and come back you end up parking nowhere near your room due to restaurant parking issues. $90 for a dumpy room. My mistake.

disgusting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/08
we stayed there last year when we had to leave the highway due to bad weather, the roads were extremely icy. the rooms looked like they should have been rented by the hour. we only stayed there out of desperation.

The best inn in the area. I liked the food at the restaurant, and the music that they offer is also very good.

Service, location, rooms, and price! The location made it easy to see my friends . We also had a great rooom to entertain, and needless to say we could always go to the lounge.

here's my thoughts on the Hi-Ho. Merritt Parkway Motor Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/15/07
I've stayed at the Hi-Ho about 8-10 nights since March. I conduct business in the entire NE region, and when I am in the Connecticut and New York area, I find the Hi-Ho to be the most convenient and affordable option. I choose to stay here over any hotel between Fairfield and Manhattan. Not only is the motel affordable and convenient, but it is also one of the most fun places to stay for me. I stay in hotels almost every night, and it's refreshing to stay at a locally run, historic establishment. I find myself inspired to write and to research the history of the Merrit Parkway whenever I stay there. Motels are way cooler than hotels. I hope that you will continue to offer rooms at the Hi-Ho for many years in the future.

a.k.a. Hi Ho Motor Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/06
The "Merritt Parkway Motor Inn" is very hard to find because it is actually the "Hi Ho Motor Inn" which is not hard to find because of the gigantic neon lights. This inn has a restaurant and bar which was very noisy into the wee hours. Men were loitering after the bar closed. I did not want to take off my shoes or touch anything in the room because it was decrepit. Everything was time-worn and dilapidated. The decor was from the space age 1960s. The bedcovers were extremely dirty. The sheets were also stained. The security devices on the door were loose. The heat didn't work properly. The room smelled bad. I have to admit it was a non-smoking room and it did not smell of smoke. It just smelled old. I cannot recommend this inn to anyone.
