I had a 6 week contract at the hospital and this awful owner threw me out for no reason on the third night when I came home after a late shift !
She said GET OUT and my agency was closed for the weekend so I packed my car then returned her key but she refused to give me the check I paid her for a week's stay. Then she demanded my credit card and being a woman alone, got two men to come pressure me !
When I went outside she called the POLICE ! Telling them I was a thief and that I had stayed in the hotel and not paid when she was still holding my check !
In the month since I left there and stayed at The Traveler Inn, I have heard other stories of people getting kicked out, not for damages or noise, just because she doesn't like you !
BUYER BEWARE ! DO YOU WANT TO BE NEXT ???
I highly recommend The Traveler Inn, just one block over.
We stopped here for one night on the way to Salt Lake City. It is an old style motel. Our room was immaculately clean, with a queen bed, TV, desk, microwave and fridge. The owner gave us a discount on the price because there was no tub in our room - only a shower. We paid $38 + tax. The only negative was that the room did not have an iron or a hair dryer, but for $38 I can't complain. When I asked at the desk if there was a hair dryer available for use, the owner let me use her own. She was so sweet and friendly. I give this place an A+++ for old fashioned hospitality. They don't make 'em like this any more.
We stayed in room 35 for 6 nights. Clean, basic room, comfrotable beds. Quite and good loccation.. What this place is a home away from home. What It is NOT a 4 star hotel, and don't expect any hotel with big town amenities in North Platte. The owner Linda is like your friend. She made us feel welcomed from the very beginning and runs this business like you are staying in her home. We NEVER heard any sirens or gun shots as others have commented on. Crime rate is very low in this town. Our son and his fiance just moved here and they went back to the motel after we left because we had forgotten our pillow. Linda knew who he was by remembering our conversations and had even washed our pillow for us! She is an excellent host and cook! If you are lucky, you will be blessed by some of her home cooked meals. If you need a place to stay for a day, week, month or long term like some people stay here, this is a affordable, clean, comfortable perfect place to stay. We will be back in July and will be staying here along with other family members. We highly recommend this motel.
I made a reservation, because of the reviews here, but even then, I wasn't expecting the level of hospitality from the desk manager (or owner? Not sure.) With the room key, and a great smile, she gave us a plate of blueberry pastry, gratis, that was *delicious*. When she realized I was travelling with my father, she gave us a two bedroom suite, instead of a single room with two beds, at a price easily half of what I'd pay elsewhere!
The rooms were exceptionally clean, the beds were very soft, the (big) TVs worked, local calls were free, we were able to walk two blocks to church the next day, and did I mention the pastry? Whenever we go back out there, I know where /we'll/ be staying.
We really loved this place. We moved from North Platte to Oregon but have a daughter who lives and works in NP. We needed to stay for 1 week and we got a decent rate considering we were there a week. I found the rooms clean and a family atmosphere with the staff. At no time did I hear sirens and police activity. That is why we're staying there again when we come for our 2nd grandchilds birth in apr/may. Definitely would recommend this place 10 times over.
My wife and I came through at 3am, unexpectedly, on a road trip from Chicago to Salt Lake City and Linda (the owner) woke up and prepared a room for us. She then allowed us to stay two extra hours past check out time so that we could get a little extra rest and on top of all this offered to make us breakfast. This place is quaint and has the look of an older motel, which it is, but is a class act joint. We love and will be stopping there whenever we happen to be in N. Platte again! The one and only person, I might add, that rated this place as "TERRIBLE" shouldn't be using motels for three day meth binges; he then might have a more positive outlook on life, in general.
