Pretty decent
By ,
Quiet, set off the road. Rooms were dated but clean. Beds were comfortable. Price was fine. The guy at the desk was an interesting character, but said he was retiring soon, shame.

WHAT A DUMP!!
By ,
I gave this motel one star only because it does exist. I had reservations for two rooms but when I got there management said he only had one available. When I mentioned I had reservations he said that since he hadn't processed my credit card the reservation wasn't valid. I went to get my friend who had stayed the night before and had a look at the room. Peeling wallpaper, moldy bathroom, nothing else any too clean. We went to the Motel 6 down the street which was clean and quiet. Given a choice of this motel or nothing I would sleep in my car!

Will stay again
By ,
Have stayed there 2 or 3 times and will again. Easy parking and access to the highway. Sets back from the road and is quiet. The rooms are very basic but clean. Very affordable if you are watching your money

What a bummer
By ,
It was Humboldt University Graduation weekend and the hotel pickings were slim. At first, the price was decent, compared to the inflated rates of anything else available that weekend. But the women working the front desk acted like I was an inconvenience that she could barely tolerate. The big problem was as follows: we travel with a small dog. They accepted the dog (with a $5 deposit, which, although small, seemed made up on the spot), but only in their smoking rooms. To alleviate my concerns, the front desk woman said they aren't that bad. They are. Smoke infiltrates the very walls. After leaving all windows and the door open, while attempting to at least mask the smell with Fabreeze, we decided maybe a shower would at least help. The towels were low level gym towels, small, rough and of limited supply. I've stayed in worse motels, but the experience here was pretty bad. Maybe the non-smoking rooms are better (do they have better towels?), but the Motel 6 about 50 yards away is cheaper and cleaner.

My preferred motel
By ,
I like the large parking area, easy in, easy out. Away from traffic noise. Basic but clean. I like the fact I don't have to climb stairs or have someone overhead. Have stayed there twice and will again in 2008. Price is reasonable, desk helpful and polite. Not far from resturants and shopping. I have recommended it to friends who are tired of high prices for a nights stay.

Very Nice Older Motel
By ,
I stayed here In March 2007 and will stay there again when in Eureka (About 7 times a year). A single story older motel. Clean and well kept for it's age. The service was fine, and the price was good also. The rooms are heated but do not have air conditioning. This is typical in the area. I have stayed at a very upscale motel in Eureka costing 3 times the price of this one without air conditoning as well. I am very happy here and will stay again.

Biker friendly
By ,
I like this motel's layout. It is an old motorcourt style motel where the room doors open out to the parking area. This way I can park my expensive Harley right outside my door. The rooms were clean, the price reasonable (less than the Motel 6 down the street).

last stop on honeymoon
By ,
We came across this motel after making our way through the Avenue of the Giants. It was affordable at the time and has a spacious look to it. Our room was fine - not fancy, funky wallpaper, bright pink bathroom - but we had no problems. It's a cinderblock motel so we heard nothing from any of our neighbors. The only drawback was only a shower stall, no tub or larger stall. Still, a fairly large room for the money ($40 in 1999) and while it has gone up some (we've stayed two other times since then and will likely stay there next week when on our vacation) it's still worth it. I wish it was possible to make reservations on the web!
