Cedar Grove Motel, Altoona

I was looking for a cheaper place to stay for one quick night. This motel was definitely cheaper at $49. The room cracked me up. Take a trip back to the seventies!!! The bed had a headboard that was big heavy dark book case type. Looked like it had a previous life as a water bed. But it was comfortable and clean. Ready for this?! There were mirror tiles on the ceiling above the bed! They had tape on all of the seams. Was this a precaution? It was funny. The bathroom was okay. It was clean. The whole room, bed and bathroom needed to be painted and spruced up a little. I hesitated to walk barefoot on the floors. Oh yea, forgot about the big wall paper mural. Check out the pics on their web site. Look closely. I am no prude but I thought the rooms shown were kind of tacky. I think the motel must have changed hands from the previous reviews. I doubt if there was anyone named Mike and the place seems like it has been left to fall apart. Although it looked clean it didn't give the impression of being clean, I wouldn't stay here again.

This a great little motel that is quiet and just a little off the beaten path, located 3 miles from Altoona. I would recomend this motel to anyone looking for a clean room at a fair price. Mike and the rest of the staff at the motel are very responsive and quickly take care of any needs that you may have during your stay.

My boyfriend & I have stayed @ Cedar Grove Motel twice so far & we love it. The people are really helpful & friendly. The price is amazing. Some places I called before Cedar Grove wanted to charge 40 dollars a person! But it was 40 dollars for the two of us! I was majorly impressed. The rooms are really clean & their king size beds are awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys friendly people & to people who dont want to pay OUTRAGEOUS prices.

The motel has quite location with clean rooms and excellent customer service. The motel has Jacuzzi room which was very nice for my anniversory and special occassions.

Just got back from a reunion in altoona and didnt want to spend an arm and a leg at holiday inn. Found the Cedar Grove Motel and was quite impressed. The location was kind of hard to find but the room was more than expected for the price and was surprisingly clean. The king size bed was excellent, better than most ive seen even at the major hotel chains. The service was also very polite and helpful. I would stay here again. They do not have a pool or any type of activities. So if your looking for that go somewhere else. I did not have a jacuzzi room so i do not know what it was like but referring to the carpet, it seemed new in my room. The motel seemed like it is always kept in good shape inside and out and not left to fall apart.
