Coachman Motel, Bloomington

The Coachman was once a very good hotel, but had slipped badly in recent years. The building was about 40 years old, needed renovation, and was acquired for future redevelopment by the City of Bloomington. After asbestos removal, it has now been razed.

Such a charming place, very comfortable beds, with generous breakfast buffet. Have been back many times, and will continue to do so. It's located conveniently in downtown. Ask for the Lamp suite, it's decor is just stunning. You will not be disappointed. I took off a little in ratings for cleanliness and service because it took a little longer than expected for extra towels, and one towel looked a bit frayed. Not a huge deal, all in all another great experience.

This place is amazing. At first glance it might look dated, but it's what's inside that counts - delicious buffet, friendly and courteous staff, and the rooms! They outdid themselves in every way - the fixtures, the carpet, the bedding, just gorgeous. I can't express what a delightful time we had here and we will return when we're back in town.

Wonderful is all I can say about this hotel. I would consider it the best hotel in the entire city of Bloomington. I've stayed in many hotels in Chicago, Vegas, and Detroit and I would say this is by far, the best one I've found. It has a classic, yet modern decor and the food was amazing. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway. It is pure class. Within walking distance of the mall too and a lovely cinema is right down the street.

Okay, I'm from Bloomington. This place is call "The Roachman" around here. I drive by it every day. I thought the city had finally shut this place down. It needs to be bull-dozed to the ground. Most of the windows are broken.
