Countryside Motel, Grantville

this is a nice clean small motel.room rate is very resenable and manager/owner is a friendlly and co operative. only one thing i did not like is there was no phone in a room.

The owner/manager of the motel is a liar and cheat. One month in advance, I booked a 4 person - 2 beds room for one night. On the day of the reservation, I called to confirm and he told me everything was fine and I said, "Thanks, I will see you in about an hour." when i arrived at the motel, I was told i had never said anything about 4 persons and he was only aware that 2 persons would be staying...a blatant lie because there were four of us going to a concert. Further, he refused to let us stay at the motel and proceeded to charge my credit card even though i never stayed there. After disputing the charge with mastercard, the owner of the hotel claims I never showed up...too bad for him I have proof. Overall, this motel is absolutely disgusting. The atmosphere of the motel office is that of a garbage dump, unprofessional and dirty. Business practices like this should not be tolerated and every effort is being taken to make sure of this. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this "establishment"...I reccommend the Mountainview motel about .25 miles down the road which is where i ended up staying very nice and friendly, the extreme opposite of the countryside...Save yourself the trouble and avoid at all costs.
