Mayfair Hotel, Belmar

Mayfair Hotel ??? more like the Cockroach Inn, first of all not only is the hotel from the 1920's but it smells like moth balls, the bathroom is in the bedroom and the rooms are decorated like a haunted house. Second of all we found cockroaches in our room , they switched us to a bigger room , but the next day the OWNER of the hotel an elderly woman with no business ethic nor customer sservice had the audacity to tell me that I brough the roaches. The nerve to say that to a paying client, me and my girlfriends are 23 years old from westchester and settled for this hotel for LDW because evrything else was sold out !!! I rather sleep in a barn then ever come back to the cockroach inn !!! And one more thing its unprofessional the way that the employees dress , they dress in hand me down clothing that is not appealing to the clients & the "porter" walks around with no shoes !!! When we told them about the cockroaches in our room he had the nerve to climb ontop of our bed with his dirty socks spray the wall and say " that should take care of it" DISGUSTING DONT EVER STAY HERE THERE IS ROACHESSSSSS !!!

it is across the street from the beach and it is clean ad quite nostaligc. a beautiful lobby and convient to a lot of shopping the beach the pool and nite life

ive stayed at the mayfair a few times, during the summer months. the hotel staff is always nice and welcoming, and the rooms are always clean. they offer a nice pool area and a kitchen to make dinner, if you dont feel like going out.while its not a fancy hotel, it is a nice down to earth, beach hotel which is what you expect when going to the shore.

We have been going to the Mayfair for years ... started with my husband (boyfriend in the beginning) as time went on we got married across the street from the hotel spent our honeymoon there with a few friends. Now we have a family and we spend our summer vacations there. So it's perfect for couples, friends and family. I have read the reviews online and felt I had to say something. No the Mayfair is not a 5 star resort. However, the location is great the pool is perfect for the kids and the rates are the best in town. So if your looking for a 5 star don't go here but if your a down to earth easy going person then you will fit in there. The community kitchen is great for a family on a budget feed the kids breakfast lunch and dinner if you want (saves alot of money). And yes they are just hotel rooms some with the shower/tub in the room but it's ours and we don't have to share. However we do like to get the adjoining rooms now that we have kids they can have their own room and we have one for our privacy when they are put down for the night. It's a seashore hotel with the old world charm of high metal cielings throughout the first floor and yes the rooms are older too but the rates are right and the rooms are clean. You don't go to the shore to sit in your room and if you do why bother going to the shore. Stay at a 5 star on the highway somewhere. I would rate this as a 5 star in my opinion yet everyone has a differant outlook on things. The location is great, amenties are just what we want the staff is friendly and the rates are good.

this place is as creepy as it gets! don't ever stay here! place looks like it hasn't been updated since the 70's.........worst place i ever stayed....EVER!! checked out after 1 night.

A great place to go if you plan to spend your day at the pool or beach. It is a bit old, but to shower and sleep it is fine. I have recommended it to others and they also found the conveince of being across the street from the beach and having a pool worth putting up with an old, but charming hotel.

frat houses are cleaner, this place is for students on a budget, only not for families great location but the rooms have not been kept correctly since Nixon was President
