WORST EVER
By Venessa, 05/26/09
This motel was the dirtiest I have ever seen. The bathroom door was off the hinges, stained carpet, dirty sheets, no lock on front door! I demanded a refund after seeing the room, but the desk clerk refused. I filed a complaint against this motel with the BBB. We went across the street to the Red Roof Inn. Only $20 more and well worth it!

wow....

Horrible...Front desk cluless/rude. pop rings on furniture. Old popcorn on floor. Broken crack pipe on floor. I could go on and on. Went to the red roof across the street the very next day. Much better and cheaper.

never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/08
what a disgrace. bugs in room. carpet had not been vacuumed in quite awhile. sheets soiled. mirrors dirty. cracks in bathtub and hand sink. filfty woodwork. cobwebs everyywhere. continental breakfast? two mini donuts? the odor was unbearable. rooms not ready when we arrived. what other choice did we have? no vacancies anywhere close. i will be in contact with our pa representative to see what can be done to clean it up or close it down. would suggest other visitors do the same. did i forget to mention the stacks of garbage at the rear of the establishment?

Not what I expected for $75
By Meredith E, 09/23/07
Saw overall positive reviews on Yahoo, so thought we'd try it. We did not agree at all with the other reviewers. Likes: Comfortable/clean bed, wireless internet, clean sink and toilet, refrigerator and microwave and check-out time was later than most hotels (noon). Dislikes: We booked a nonsmoking room and got a smoking room that, of course, smelled like stale smoke. There were no towels in the room when we got there, so we had to call the front desk to get some. Carpet was old, stained, and sticky. One of the lights was burned out. Looked generally run-down inside and out. Found a couple bugs in the room. Bathtub didn't look terribly inviting, enough so that my boyfriend, who loves his showers before bed, wouldn't set foot in it. The television quality was poor as well. Continental breakfast was awful. They had coffee and tea, but didn't have juice, milk, or water. Our options for breakfast were muffins and onion bagels. We actually had to wait for them to replenish the bagels, but they did. We also had to wait in line for the toaster, as they only had one. We did manage to snag the last blueberry muffin, leaving bran muffins as the only other choice. Overall, we were not at all pleased. We seriously considered walking out, but were just too tired to after a long day.

I expected a little better!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/07
Great location , centrally located on RT. 30 near RT. 340 in the heart of Amish country. Rt. 30 is a busy highway and turning left out of the hotel can be a challenge at times. Best to go right 100 ft. to a traffic light and U-turn. Service was good, we did not use the pool nor did we eat the Continental breakfast. There are many great Pa. Dutch restaurants to eat at within a 10 mile radius. Why travel down there to eat what you can eat at home! Room was a little below average with a strong smell of cleaner or some type of spray upon entry. The closet had a sliding door which also served as the bathroom door (no way to lock it) which was rather strange. The tile in the bathroom on the tub wall had some mold on it. There were only about eight TV stations as well. On a good note, there is a clean looking microwave and small refrigerator in the room. Mattresses were rather hard also. However, our sons room next door had a much better and cleaner bathroom with all the same things as mentioned above. For $71.00 plus tax it was o.k but I wouldn't pay anymore for this room and I may not stay here again as well. This was a quick booking and all the other hotels that I frequent were booked.

great alternative
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/07
I've stayed here for the past 4 years for the Quilt Show in March/April. Very accessable to the show site and the vendors at a much more reasonable price. Last year (2006) saw the addition of a small fridge and microwave...VERY helpful as I like milk with my tea. Complimentary breakfast better than average for a continental breakfast adding bagles to the usual donuts...wish there was milk rather than cream or creamora for coffee/tea but that is minor. Feel quite safe even though I stay alone....and at half the price of the hotel next door and the one down the street I have more money left for fabric....

always worth it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/06
I've been coming to the congress motel since i was 5 years old, 15 years ago! It was always our favorite family motel we would stay at. I live in the area now, and when i drive by the congress inn, it brings back wonderful memories.
