Good for one night's stay but no longer!

The room was small, dingy and lacked crucial things like toliet paper and a telephone. If you need a place to sleep for the night and don't plan to spend any time in the room, this works fine. The location is great. It's a quick walk to the boardwalk/ocean and it's right next door to the police station which is nice for added safety. However, if you are looking for a nice, clean room where you plan to stay a few days, this is NOT it! Let's just say that I didn't walk barefoot in the room and slept on my own sheets/pillows for the night. I would not recommend this motel for families with children.

Will try somewhere else next time

Too far from the beach when lugging all the kids toys, floors were tile and very slippy for kids with wet feet! We were in the lower back with only a large chain fence outside our door so there was nowhere nice for the adults to lounge at night after the kids went to bed. Tile floors were the worst part, we had to put towels down so we didn't slip all over the place after getting out of the showers. Rooms were overall clean, but didn't feel homey at all.

Smelly & Dirty

The room we were going to get smelled so badly of smoke that we asked if there was another room. The second room stunk just as bad, we went to a third and finally just settled. Unfortunately there weren't designated places for smoking/non-smoking. The rooms looked shady, not to mention the sheets on one of the beds had a shoe print on it, and they don't change the linen everyday. The bathroom was yucky too. If you don't mind all of that, at least it was close to the boardwalk.

Memorable stay.....

We stayed at anchor motel for our prom and it was great. Manager at the motel told us all the rules when we check in so we don't get in trouble with the police. we been staying at anchor motel for past two years for our prom and we will definately go back and also recommend all our friends to return to anchor. They did not bother us the whole weekend and let us know if we were doing something wrong. You know what happens in prom but the managers/owners were very patient with us. I recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. thank you anchor motel for great stay.

horrible experience

this was a party place. the entire second floor had kids yelling all night. there were mobs of drunk kids hanging outside of their rooms. had to go outside several times to ask them to quiet it down.

Excellent Motel

We stayed at Anchor Motel last year and It was quite nice. Room were clean and smelled nice. Pool was also nice and my kids loved it. It is not too far away from the beach. And 7-11 is only half of block from the hotel. Anchor Motel is very safe being right next to Fire and Police department. Management was helpful in recommending the restaurants. I would reccommend the everyone to stay at Anchor Motel. hope you also enjoy stay
