Pictures of room are VERY deceiving. Looked very nice and so did pool in the pictures on the net. Walk into the room and was devistated, I have never been in a room that small and dirty, The Frig worked. The bathroom was a stall shower that leaked, and everyone felt like they had to waer there flip flops in the shower, for fear of catching something. Pool was very cloudy and full of sand. Never gave towels, we had to use the towels for our hole stay, we actually had to use our own beach towels (good thing we bought extras!)The room smelled, if I could have gotten my money back and was able to get another room in such short notice I would have left and not subjected my grandchildren to this kind of living. We stayed out as much as we could. When we left, we went to a family members in Keyport and took LONG HOT showers!
Me and my few freinds plan to went out for the Memorial Day weekend and we made a last minute reservation and we went to Franklin Terrace Motel. Motel is small and was still under renovation wrok they were doing at place, but room was nice clean and spacious. Room was completly done and were good compare to other beach motel we went before on beach motels. We had a great time at the clubs, right around the corner and we loved all the nights we stayed there. I will be surely going back to this place in coming holiday weekends.
When I booked 2 nights, and got great service on the phone and what I thought was a decent price for a labor day weekend, I would not have imagined that a chicken coup would be waiting for me and family.
First off, there was a broken down stove in the room with fruit flies coming out of every orifice. The shower drain was clogged and caused an overflow within the first couple of minutes. The bath towels provided were yellow, and when I saw that the same bath towels were also being used on the floor for excess water, I had to wonder if prior guests were wiping their feet on them prior to my stay. In place of adequate tiling and installation, was spackle splattered over holes on the wall and under the sink. Further room service was provided by the owners and was not done until our last day there. The pool was murky and shallow, but you could not see the bottom of the pool cleary, and fragments of paper money were floating around in the water.
The microwave and refridgerator in the room were a big plus. The only other good features were the beach passes for 2 days, and its location to the beach and board walk.
If you don't mind feeling like bugs are crawling on you when you turn the lights out for bed, and bring your own towels, this is the perfect place for you.
