Gatekeeper Inn, Reno

I have no complaints about the Gatekeeper. It's clean, exceptionally quiet, and the weekly rates are unbeatable. Barbara, the manager, is always available and goes out of her way to make quests comfortable. She's just an all-around good person. I'd stay at the Gatekeeper again just to see her! My favorite feature of the room was a window that opens, a rare find in the welded-shut rooms of the Reno casinos. In addition, the place is "you can hear a pin drop" quiet! Not kidding. I was there during Street Vibrations and didn't lose a minute's sleep. And even though I was a little concerned about being alone, I always felt safe and secure. I was in Reno because I needed to be close to St. Mary's Hospital. The Gatekeeper is a half-block away. Perfect! All in all, the Gatekeeper gets an A! So does Barbara!

The service was great. But the Manager had a very judgemental personality and had no regard for potential clients. As a matter of fact after a young mexican couple left I personaly heard her (Barbara) stated she did"nt need gangsters in her property any way. And thats in front of other client's. After our stay was up (last hour) we felt rushed and was given no explanation at all. We rented over 22 rooms for street vibrations and felt as if we were under a prison guard or something. In my opinion the lady needs some P.R. courses or an in house program. If I'ts the same manager next year we will be bringing our buisness elsewhere.

very nice and helpful staff, uncomplicated, located downtown, easy to get to, good deal. couldn't have asked for anything better for that price. will definitely be coming back in the summer time.

I Took the family on a unplanned weekend at Reno, I must of checked half of dozen motels then I came up tp the Gatekeeper Inn. The staff was very friendly asked me if I had AAA club membership (I did) they gave me discount. Room was clean comfortable and a great AC. But what I really liked was the towels! They were full size soft and fluffy. I used to go to the big neighboring hotels were you get lost and it takes an hour to get out but from now on I will stay at the Gatekeeper Inn.

I was so exhausted from my drive from the bay area and all places i checked were so short with me and acted like i was wasting their time. The young couple opened the door instead of having me talk to them through the glass space for late check-ins. It was 2am in the morning!!! They were so kind and sincere, they asked if i would like something to drink! I felt so welcomed i stayed for the whole weekend and took enough business cards to start my own travel agency! I loved Gatekeeper Inn and the family that allowed me to come visit them in their home, because that the way they made me feel , at home! sincerely, Jason Lago, Sacramento, CA
