7 Pines Motel, Kings Beach

Simple hotel, clean, good hitting, not far from the beach, very friendly, great rates

$86 dollars for the holidays seemed like a good deal, but the room had a bathroom window that wouldn't shut and the wind and snow blew it open in the middle of the night. After having to deal with that at 3 am, I thought I should get a discount or something. Instead the manager got upset and even suggested that I may done it. Nice! She got the window fixed the next day, but lost a customer with me.

The room with two queens was cramped, the towels and linens looked used and abused, door to outside was hollow core with a hole where someone had kicked it, gnats swarmed around the bathroom, the flush to the bath didn't work, no heat until they brought up an electric heater, and the neighborhood seemed seedy at best. Maybe if your a college kid looking for a place to sleep on snow boarding excursion, it'd be fine, but with a wife and two little kids, it was scary!

We called around and found that the seven pines had the best rates when we went snowboarding. We weren't expecting much but it actually turned out to be a very nice room.
