"This place is cursed"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/09
This place is the labyrinth where the Minotaur dwells. No, more like the mega hotel in "The Shining" leveled to four floors. Whoever designed this monolith monster was either high or insane. I saw the twin girls and the kid on the big wheel. The direct path to my conference from my room took 8 minutes. It is a maze, (we felt like rats trying to find the escape) you feel trapped because it is all inclusive. The food is overcooked, bland and my stomach is still not normal. The Black Olive is a decent pub though. However, the food is still lacking. The foosball table and darts were broken. Good desktop trivia games though.
I would be leery of a return, because I now have nightmares of "Here's Johnny". I was with a group of 150, for four wretched days. Everyone complained about the food, the vastness of the labyrinth and the small rooms. Many got lost, many called it a prison.
The staff however was superb; kind, helpful and all of them possessed genuine southern grace. The pool is awesome and the grounds are nice. My negativity may stem from my vast, desolate, and eerie trek from my room to the conference. Some of the halls are triangular, some are thin halls. You have to discover the appropriate path. If you are adventuresome and like take out pizza, this place would suffice.
