Cool Harbor Motel, Front Royal

This place is horrible! No cleaning service,no ammenities,(oh yeah a pool) an old one that you would be better taking a swim in the river. Expensive and not worth it. Whoever wrote any positive comment about this place.........(can't call it motel) probably was paid or is their management (check out the dates-one after the other one). This place needs to go away!

The people are so nice they make you feel right at home and the pool is kept up very well. The motel is really came along way over the years and you could not pick a better place to stay while in Front Royal Va

Can't take this yahoo review seriously! I have been posting my honest reviews for some time now, only to have them deleted by yahoo. The reason you have this review page is so travelers can recommend or not recommend places. I would not recommend Cool Harbor to anyone, thats being honest!! The service is bad, rooms are beyond dirty and the hotel is run down on the inside Hopefully the HONEST yahoo doesn't delete this message, like all the others

Very dirty rooms and run down condition. Would not recommend, better off sleeping on the street. Bathrooms are scary as well as the overall look of the rooms. My big thing is no one should pay to sleep in these conditions. We don't live in a third world country

The hotel is very run down and not properly maintained. Almost like a slum lord running a rental apartment. The overall experience was terrible! Lets put it this way, cleanisness isn't the main concern. Room was very dirty, and looking closely alot of key spots aren't cleaned. A quick sweep is what I would call it. Check newer hotels in the area before coming here, please don't make the mistake I made

I liked that the room we stayed in was nice and clean and convenient to places to eat I did not like the pool too small also when you walk in to the front desk the place looks old and unwelcoming. Needs to be updated and more welcoming.

This is a cool older motel that brings back memories of the 60's and 70's. The rooms are nice. It's not a 5-star hotel but it's neat and has a very comfortable feel. Surprisingly they have very fast wireless internet. It would make a great base of operations for a group.

Everything Awful. Everything. Nothing else to say. Location convenient for purpose of my visit but there are also other motels nearby that would likely be better in all other areas such as service, cleanliness and value.

We stayed in Front Royal uunexpectedly in Jan 2011 and were very pleasantly pleased by the Cool Harbor's rates and the level of service you get for the price. We paid $65 a night for a room and breakfast that could have easily gone for much more at a more expensive hotel. Friendly service, and clean no nonsense rooms, would definitely stay here again.

The Cool Harbor Motel is definately one of the more cute hotels from the outside, but once in our room, I wish we would have checked right back out. You can tell they have put some effort into fixing the place up; new paint, fridge, microwave, doors,etc. But, the place should (and very well could) be condemmed. There was black mold everywhere. The airconditioner actually had "bubbles" of mold growing inside of it!! There was mold all over the bathroom and behind the bed and on the box spring. Further, the carpet was wet from the fridge leaking and the whole room smelled of mold and mildew (which actually smelled like urine)!! We had such a great dinner at Soul Mountain Restaurant and then to come back to this room was beyond a disapointment. When I talked to the front desk clerk in the morning, she barely even acknowledged me. Their loss, I will be contacting the health department!!
