Severn Inn, Annapolis

Recently had the opportunity to take advantage of the Valentines pre pix menu with wine paring. My wife and I have dined at the Severn Inn on a few occasions and have always been pleased with the food and service. I must say they have out done themselves! Very please with all four courses starting with stuffed oysters, signature crab bisque, salmon and finished with chocolate flourless torte. Each course pared with wine, my wife and I found the main course paring a little too heavy for the salmon, but the secco with dessert made up for it. Our server never rushed us, and as busy as he was he took time to engage in conversation noting he can’t wait for the deck to reopen (we can’t either; the sunset is to die for). To find a server that truly takes care of you and maintains excellent service and attention to every detail is hard to find. I will note the bar is a little less inviting. The elderly bar tender is a little abrupt, and always appears to be rushed. If this is the only down side to such a great experience I will still give them five stars.

I have been to the Severn Inn twice lately for work and pleasure, both times it has been a great example of what a fine dinning restaurant should be. Great food, wine and service add the best view on the Chesapeake Bay and you have the perfect place to go

My title says it all, fantastic view, great food and wine, wonderful service. if you are looking to impress someone or just going out, try the severn inn you will not be let down

We live close by and were so excited when the renovations started- a nice place to eat that we can get to by car or boat easily! We figured that this would become our "go to" place for lunch + dinners. The first meal was horrible. We ordered ceasar salads with grilled chicken breast strips. While we waited we battled a very persistent fly- eew. The wait was long and when our lunches arrived, the chicken breast was obviously left over from last night's dinner. They were cold, tough and over cooked- I couldn't eat it without washing each bite down with my iced tea. We heard that they got a new cook and tried again. Second time, we had to sit in the bar area (our fault for not calling in advance) but again, the food was poorly prepared and not tasty. We really wanted this to work out so we gave it one more try- a big disappointment all over again. Looks pretty, but the food is horrible, as was the service, all three times. I'm happy to pay $40 for an entree but it better taste good and this I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Don't waste your time/money. The help was less than. The view won't outweigh the poor food and poor service. Such a shame, we really wanted this to be "our new place."

Loved everything. Perfect end to our perfect day.We Will come back. The Service was exceptional and the food was excellent and the view was priceless.

The views are amazing. There really isn't a bad seat. They won't guarantee outside seating, but we have found that most days before six, that's not a problem. The inside is really nice for the wow factor, when you want to impress people (white tablecloth/fine dining service/extensive wine list/no mosquitos or waiters in shorts). Their kitchen has been consistent and they change their menu a lot so you don't get bored. This is a local secret because they're off the beaten path, right across from the Naval Academy.

The Sever Inn is a must......... We found the menu to be well rounded offering something for everyone. The view is breath taking and one of a kind. To top it off the service was spot on, ask for Troy he's on his game. We started w/ wine (the wine list is as good is one can be) and cheese, flowed by the Crab cake and fried green tomatoes, fresh local oysters and the grilled Romaine (enough for two), Troy told us we had to have the Grouper and soft shell Crab, he was so right "Every bite was as good as the last". We where never rushed, at times we didn't even know he was at the table. The timing of each course was perfect, and served "hot". We enjoyed the sunset and dined while the lights from the academy sparkled on the severn river. Make reservations and ask for a window.......

I'm from out of town but was going to be in Annpolis and was trying to plan a birthday party for 30 people. This restaurant was reccommended both for its view and its food. The service was most unaccomodating. I was given the run-around, unreturned phone calls, faxes not sent, etc. etc. They would not accomodate any food preferences. The banquet manager was abrupt and almost rude and never available by telephone. It was a most unpleasant experience and of course I would not do business with such an unpleasant place, no matter how good the food or view. I would assume the service in the restaurant would not be any better.
