Avondale by the Sea, Cape May

After a horrible experience at another hotel that was so bad I had to leave in the miiddle of my vacation, the staff at The Avondale not only found me a room but also showed kindness and compassion when seeing how upset I was. They checked back with me about two hours after I arrived to make sure everything was OK. The next morning while I was enjoying the continental breakfast the owner cheked in with me again. I am excitedly awaiting my next visit to the Avondale in just two weeks. The Avondale has to have the nicest staff anywhere in Cape May. Thanks for saving an almost ruined vacation and making it delightful.

Super friendly owners and staff! So, so helpful with recommendations, directions, etc. Very clearn rooms...with none of those "hotel smells" - no smoking, no mildew!!! Great location - across the street from the beach. Convenient to everything. Highly recommended!

We travel to Cape May every year for a few days, and almost always stay at the Avondale. The rooms are always clean, the decor is very nice, beds are very comfortable. The location is just perfect for us as we spend time at the carpenter mall and on the beach. We can walk to everything from the Avondale. The owners are very nice, the continental breakfast and coffee are a welcome treat in the mornings. I love sitting on my balcony and watching the people and the ocean, it is so very relaxing. What else can I say? We have stayed here probably six times and every time have had a wonderful experience.

I've stayed at Avondale for the past fifteen years in the month of October. The owners are friendly and accommodating. The suites are comfortable and clean. I moved to Florida and can't wait to go back to Jersey to enjoy 'going down the shore' every fall.
