Oceanic Motel, Wildwood

Again, we stayed at this hotel, Things were great,the staff is friendly and helpful,we had a fun time at the oceanic,there were no bedbugs ,the rooms were clean the bathrooms were clean,the pool was clean,the bands they had lined up were great ,parking was organized a extra lot down the street was organized and pleanty of room the food was good we had a super time , again thanks to a great staff for a nice three days , we will be back again Eddie and Cindy

I made reservations for a wekend there....6 days before our scheduled stay, the National Weather Service started in about the up coming hurricane.....then it procedded to get worse, the Governor declared a State of Emergency and said NO ONE was to go to the shore points and those that were there were to leave Friday....Atlantic City is even closing the casinos down !! I got a hold of Bob, and asked if we could just move our dates to another weekend..?? ( I did not ask for a refund at this point) his response " NO REFUNDS OR DATE CHANGES" !! Ummm WRONG... with a State of Emergency declared, we are more than entitled to a FULL refund !! So, either he credits ASAP or it will cost him more than the room rate...and I am sure We are not the only ones.... BE CAREFUL, if he is being this obstinate with a major hurricane slated to hit...then Im thinking he is just going to be an ass about anything!!

I've been going to the Oceanic motel since I was 6 years old and I am now 25. It was always clean and kept up to date. However, once Barbara sold the motel it went down hill. Two years ago we noticed that the paint was chipping and the couches had holes in them, We just figured the new owners were saving up money to fix it up. However, that was not the case, we went again last year and the same dirty couches were there except this time we had uninvited room guests! BEDBUGS!!! I found one crawling in our room. I killed it and brought it to the manager, he tried telling me it was a tick! I live in the woods and know what a tick looks like! We put all our belongings in garbage bags, checked out and went to a laundry mat. Not a great way to end our vacation! Would NOT recommend this motel to anyone!

I have been going to this hotel for many years. This hotel just got new owners and they have ran it into the ground. If you have come to this hotel pre 2010 season your thoughts might be that its a nice place, dont be decieved the new owners have turned it into a slum. Upon checking into our rooms we were met by a very nice lady who just didnt have all her wits about her. she wasnt even sure if our rooms were cleaned yet and check in is at 2pm we got there at 5pm!! Well turns out our rooms were clean however the maids orget to tell anyone. should have known then that their maid service is less than par. After being in our hotel for a night my 2 1/2 year old found a test tube shot glass with dried liquor on it. when asked were she found it she said behind the bed room door. which means the maid never even closed the door to look behind it. I went straight to the front desk and complained that this was still in my room. I was given the opportunity to stay a nite at a discounted rate. i agreed that was fare. then after being there for two days we started noticing bites on ourselves, we thought they were just regular misquito bites. on the fourth day my friend found one crawling on her bra that was in the dresser!!!!! we went online and looke dup bedbugs and sure enough thats what was there.immediately we went to the front desk and we were greeted by Ken a two faced fake. ken came to the room to look at it and when he had arrived he insinuated that we had brought the bed bugs to them!!!!!!! All my friends ripped their clothes out of the drawers and were looking for more bugs when he flat out stated that how we lived was a disgrace because of all the clothes everywhere, and that it was obvious that we brought them there. Then we pulled out the sleeper sofa and found sheddings all over the mattress, which proved they had been there for months. Then after all that he said he would find us another place to stay and offered 5 ppl a room with two twin beds and had the nerve to get mad when we said that wasnt adequate. so he found us another room in a near by hotel that was absolutley attrocious. so it being 3 in the morning and having my 2 1/2 year old still awake at this hour we slept on the floor and beds of the small two twin bedroom. we got in there at 430 after washing all our clothes. and they had the nerve to not tell the maid that the room was occupied and to leave us so we got woken up at 10!! then they only want to give us 2 nights refund because we were leaving and only had two nights left. Ken actually used the words well your on you rown have fun!!! to me at 3 in the morning when i told him we needed another room. So everyone this once decent hotel now is infested with bedbugs and wont even admit they have a problem so its only gonna get worse!!!! If you dont want bedbugs in your house do not stay at the Oceanic Hotel across from the convention center in WIldwood,NJ After contacting a health inspector, they went to inspect it and they confirmed our findings.

We stayed at the oceanic motel in Wildwood, New Jersey for 8 years, every Last weekend of June, for the fantastic "Polkas at the convention Center! The people that owns Oceanic motel COULDN'T have been nicer, and all the guest there for and not for the polkas were great! It's not the same not having great polka Music in Wildwood anymore! Wish someone else would get the polkas back! We had the greatest time every year at the 2 POOL Parties, but we did miss the WHOLE in the Celiing of the bar!!!!!!!! To evetryone that was at the Polkas, we miss all of you! Abe from Uniontown, Pa.

Upon entering the room the couch had a big brown stain. Toilet was dirty. Bed linens were dingy. Pool was cloudy, pool area a people were shady looking. No parking on premises, TWO blocks away! Gross, dirty, horrible. Did not stay. Not at all family oriented. FIGHTING TO GET DEPOSIT BACK. They said web-site ws under construction that is why no pics, that place should be deconstucted!

The Best staff ever!!! Peggy in the front desk always has a smile for you. The Tiki was amazing-sat in the pool and had the best Mud Slide by bartender Connie. Another great friendly face. The band played as we were sunbathing-where do you get that? Food service at poolside. It can't get any better that that. I thought I was on an island---see you next year.

We have been going here for 20+years and we love everything abouit it. The pool bar were it is located and all the staff is great. It,s clean who cares about the phones get a cell

This hotel was ok. We got just a basic room which was clean I have to say that. Had a tv, bed, dresser, and fridge, thats it. No phone, no clock, nothing on the walls for decoration. It did have air conditioning. Most of the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Would I go back to this one, probably not just because I'd be looking for something a little more up the ladder from this one, but if you are looking for affordable and convenient location this is a good spot. We didn't have to move our car the whole time until we went to Atlantic City. Wildwood is definitely a family oriented town though. The beaches are beautiful. Overall it was a nice trip, but I would look for a little better hotel next time.

I doubt this person has ever been in Wildwood before and realize that it is the DooWop capital. I've stayed at the Oceanic many times and it is not any of the things he claims. It's a great hotel, older yes, but in good old Wildwood style. Let them go to the casinos where things are bigger, that's probably more their style. They got alot of nerve talking about the other people staying there. There are families with children there, from old to young. As far as the red headed manager, she probably put them in their place and that pissed them off. The staff has always treated us kindly and we are very satisfied when we are there. Our last stay was the beginning of August so I know things couldn't have change that much. We look forward to our next visit.
