Sea Breeze Motel, Pacifica

I discovered this place quite by accident a few years back. I come back regularly because although the motel is old it has all the basics and is reasonably well kept. I don't mind the outdated furnishings because I get to fall asleep listening to the waves (cove side is my favorite) and I can walk out my door in the morning and have coffee while watching the waves and the seabirds. I recommend this place to everyone. The convenience of having a restaurant right next door and ample little shops close by give you everything you need for a peaceful weekend.

A friend choose this place for me September 2008 because they live nearby and knew I loved the ocean. I was satisfied with the simple things, cleanliness, and necessities. Plus I could open my door and walk a few feet, with my coffee, and stand right next to the ocean. It was the BOMB as far as I'am concerned. There was a nice restaurant and bar very near. There was a trail that took you up, around, and down a small mountain(I call one) and alone the path of the ocean. It was AWSOME to see the heavy, thick fog early in the morning. I thought I was in HEAVEN ! I like the fact there were restaurants and a shopping plaza near.

I was so excited about spending our last night in California at the Sea Breeze Motel. I actually wasn't expecting too much from the motel itself, but was excited about having a view of the ocean from our room and being lulled to sleep by the sound of crashing waves. I have only 2 positive comments on our stay. We WERE a stones throw from the surf and Nick's Seafood Restaurant/Bar is very good. The room, however, was dreadful. I am reasonably sure nothing in the room has been updated for 20 to 30 years. The bed was hard and uncomfortable; the whole room had a look of worn out and ill-kept. While the bathroom was reasonably clean, the cracked shower floor was covered with an old tub mat and the plumbing made noises whenever an adjacent bathroom was used. All of this I could have overlooked if the pleasure of hearing the ocean had been possible. Around dinner time, our view of the ocean was blocked by the restaurant customer's cars. Shortly after we went to bed, the restaurant/bar's customers began leaving. After 30 minutes I was forced to close the windows due to the noise of footsteps, voices and car engines coming from both in front and behind our room. All-in-all, it was the worst place I have ever stayed.

You will not find a better crab sandwich anywhere else. It is so yummy and delicious. The fries are pretty god too. The sandwich is so big that it could feed two people easily.

Yes, the crab sandwich was great but not $18 great... (yes, eighteen dollars). Love the location but the service was dull and atmosphere stale. Maybe this visit is best left to a sunny day?

I can't believe how much they charge for mediocre food! My husband and I actually left with a huge bill and an empty stomach. We had to go get a snack because they don't serve very much food. The plus for this restaurant is how close it is to the beach. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone that is hungry after traveling a long distance. You will pay a lot for food that tastes like a frozen dinner from the microwave.

This place is great-small, clean, great price. I love to stay there since you can hear the waves hitting the rocks and it just puts you to sleep. The restaurant is great too. I have eaten there twice, once in the restaurant, and once at the bar. Really nice people, very friendly and helpful. I'll be staying there again soon!

Great crab sandwiches, garlic bread, atmosphere. GO there. Ocean beach access. Close to San Francisco. The service is a little dry. Everyone seems bored, but everything else is really nice.

Love the location and the atmosphere... Nice menu and good service. Located right next to our Hotel room with some great shops within walking distance. This is one of our favorite place to come when we visit Pacifica.
