Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/10
I have never stayed in such a dump in my life. You could see outside from around the front door. The bed was a mattress on 2X10'S. The bedding was nansty. The refreg didn't work. Had booked two days and left because i was so dissatisfied. They charged my credit card for four days. If you want a dump to stay in then i suggest you book it. For myself i would rather sleep in my car. if you do book a room please stay in the winter so the bugs won't crawl on you.

NEVER AGAIN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/09
There was nothing to like! We paid 43 a night then had to pay resort fees! The sign states 34 a night! I booked through priceline. When we got there we checked it we found no pool and although that lady was nice the next day they didn't open til after 9am! No breakfast and no way to check out. We were to stay two nights but were begging to leave. The floors were nasty the ac/heat didn't work the beds were horrible and hard. The floors were so nasty i had a time trying to keep my kids on the bed. There wer tons of spiders every where and the door had a 2 inch gap under it so you could see right out. The hot breakfast is a coupon for hardees but they don't tell you this at check in and you have to ask for the coupon. Well they didn't open til after 9 so we didn't get to find all that our until after we had to go get our own breakfast. Alos they don't refund, they talk down to you and you wont get refunded through the sites either. Look at the pictures posted on hotwire reviews to see what it looks like. It is not a condo or a resort! And the resort fee is a lie. We found this out after further investigation. Also the pool is three buildings away and is not heated nor indoors. They are nasty rude and rooms are a roach motel not a resort! and they wouldn't even put pur already paid money towards a better room we would have to pay for the upgrade just as if we were getting an extra room. not an upgrade. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever! We left andstayed at Norma Dan's. For $10 extra (around 50 a night) we got a private balcony and a fire place with a hot breakfast on site. They also have a hot tub indoor pool and out door pool with great staff! They also gave us a military discount. I will go back there from now on. I absolutly hate River Place! And price line wouldn't help us a bit! Make sure you read the reviews from the other sites as well before booking. I think one of the workers is who is posting the good reviews.

more like a 1 star than 2 star :(
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/09
Through Hotwire, this hotel is star rated 2, however, it is closer to a 1. There is 3 different areas of the hotel. The super basic motel room, the condos and the cabins. Of course with Hotwire you do not get to choice. Ours was the basic room. The bedroom area was about the size of a large bathroom and the bathroom was barely big enough to turn around in. The room was clean but somewhat outdated. They advertise continental breakfast but you get a card to take to Hardees. Very noisy area. Would probably not choose this location again.

not the best, but not the worst.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/9/07
The Motel is convenient to the parkway, but the room was in the back.I did enjoy the back door that lead to the river. The Sign states Free Breakfast but you get a voucher for the Hardees Fast food Resturant, that is about two or three blocks away, was looking for a Room that served this and then called and was told that they give Vouchers. There was not enough Towels in the room, the pillows were very Flat and the bed was Hard. The pool was very small. If you are looking for luxury go somewhere else...

Great room for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/5/07
The River Place Inn was a great room for the price we paid. The rooms are older and need a little updating and the shower heads have low water pressure but otherwise the room was ok. Included in the room was a larger dorm refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and free WiFi access which was nice. We had a second floor room with a balcony overlooking the river which was very relaxing. Our daughter enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese which did get quite loud in the evening. Breakfast was in the form of vouchers for the local Hardee's a few blocks down; their food was lacking in taste. With so many restaurants within walking distance we recommend you go elsewhere. The River Place Inn was convenient to many of the local sites and tourist attractions. There is a trolley stop just down the road within easy walking distance that you can use to see Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville without having to battle the traffic. Next time we go to Pigeon Forge we will definitely be staying at the River Place Inn.

Review
By Betty Rodriguez, 2/23/07
I like the location, the room is large, has a rear door to the riverview and a wide landscape view, ducks are a little loud during the night, tolerable though, recommend staying on the second floor. Housekeeping was friendly although items have gone missing in room. Has wifi internet connection. Which is how I'm writing this review.

Definately going back, no questions asked!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/06
River Place Inn is private, comfortable, clean, and affordable. It's close to everything imaginable in Pigeon Forge and only about 15 minutes from Gatlinburg. You don't have to worry about things that you might have forgotten, or things that you'd usually worry about while staying away from home. It's got a beautiful view of the river, and easy to find. It's cozy, and it's the best place that I've ever stayed at. They have the best service available, and you'll never want to go home.
