Marshall's Creek Rest Motel, Gatlinburg

This was our first stay at Marshalls,some friends had reccommend it to us,,So close to town,and peace and quiet,Rooms are very clean,and very resonably prices,,We have stayed at many places in the smokies,and this one will be the one we stay at when visiting again,thanks so much Betty,and your hard working staff....also to comment on THe Gregg family saying comments was made by family or staff,,This was our first stay here,didnt know any of the staff,and was referred by friends,,we love it here,quaint,quiet,reasonable priced,close to town,just wonderful,Im ready to go back and stay at least a week,,,thanks again Betty and staff,,,God Bless,,,,Patty in Ky....

If you are looking for a modern, new, fancy motel...this IS NOT the place. But, if you want a clean, quite, quaint motel with a friendly staff this IS the place. We are so happy that our friends told us about this motel. I only wish I could stay longer. Could not extend our visit because they were full. If you want to go you better call a few months in advance. I can't wait to go back!

We have been coming here 30+ years and absolutely love it. It is close to town and quiet. Off the beaten path and a wonderful place to stay. The owners are friendly and make you part of their family. Recommend. We love the city and all the mtns and things to do there and in Pigeon Forge. Hope this little motel can survive in this mad world from now on. Thanks.

My family has been visiting marshalls Creek since I was 4 yrs old and I am now 34. It is so nice to take my kids to vacations were I grew up staying. I remember the owners Lonnie and Clyde picking on me as a kid. Just called to book our stay for spring break and found out that Lonnie passed away in Sept of 2011 :( The rooms are great and it is so close to EVERYTHING in Gatlinburg that you save tons of money on parking. There is a nice lil stream that flows by the motel and I can't remember a time that it wasn't full of mallard ducks :) No phones which is so nice. Vending machines at office. Ice availible and a really large pool that is NEVER packed with people. I can't wait for April 1st to get here!!!

We loved everything about marshall"s !! A wonderful experience, everything was spotless your key in the door just like papa and granny saying "baby the doors open come on in and make your self at home !!!! Cozy atmosphere could not have been any better. I appreicated being treated like family, don"t get that much any more, anywhere. the owners were wonderful very nice folks. This was our 4th stay here and cant wait for our next visit. Approx 1 and 1/2 blocks walk to parkway. Very convient to downtown Gatlinburg. Great place to stay. We have visited MCRM on several occasions. Clean, great location, affordable, pool, etc...However, I made reservations 2 weeks ahead of my arrival date. Things changed so I had to cancel. I called on a Monday to cancel (5 days before we were scheduled to arrive on Friday). "No problem" said the man on the phone. "But if I can't rent this room I will have to charge you for 1 night". So my response was "Whatever". My check card had already been debited the day before I cancelled. The more I thought about it the more mad I got. So my intentions was to write a letter to complain. Good News! My check card was credited before I sent them my complaint. There are 2 brothers that own/operate MCRM. One is real nice. The other is real grumpy. I am guessing I got "Ole Grump". I would have understood them charging me if i called only 4-5 hrs ahead. But 5 days, I think, is sufficient time. Just writing to let others know. If you make reservations be sure to question them about their cancellation policy. Having said all of this, we will go back.

My family and I have stayed at Marshalls Creek several times a year for years now. We love it. It is very clean and the staff is great. It is very reasonably priced for the amenities that they offer. The pool is a plus. My teenagers love it cause they can go swimming and not be bothered by a lot of people. I love sitting outside on the little porches and talking to your neighbors. It is in the heart of Gatlinburg and very close to shopping, eateries and attractions. We have never had any distractions from other guest and we liked the fact that we could walk to everything. We are planning another trip to Gatlinburg soon and will plan around openings at Marshalls Creek. This is home away from home.

This is a quaint, old motor lodge. Very clean, friendly owners, just a nice pleasant and quiet place to stay. CHEAP. You couldn't ask for more for the money. We go every year, and Marshall's prices let me have a great vacation each year. The one post on here that mentions that the great reviews must be from "family or friends" sounds like a spoiled individual, who expects luxurious accommodations for basically very, very little money. I found this place through my supervisor, who also stays there every year (again, no relation....). You can't have a four-star hotel for less than $50 a night, are you kidding me? The place is neat, clean, and very private (don't know what you are talking about re: the lack of privacy). It is the best deal for the money that I have found ANYWHERE. I love Marshall's Creek Rest. If you want the Sheraton, stay at the Sheraton. Geez.

Our family stumbled upon this quaint little family owned motel many years ago and the only time we didn't stay when we came down for vacation was when they were full. The name says it all...creek rest...off the beaten path yet within a short walk to the parkway. It is the cleanest motel you will ever stay in and the friendliest. Our motel of choice in the mountains.
