Sleepy Bear Motel, Gatlinburg

Just left the Sleepy Bear Motel yesterday. Great little place to get away to, very relaxing and QUIET. The Sleepy Bear is in town, but not right downtown, where the crowds and light allow me no rest. The staff was very friendly and helped us plan out some hiking trips for the week we were there. We also got a big kick out of the ducks who were in the creek below the rooms. It was also the best rate I have ever paid for a good room (I'm used to paying I40 interstate exit rates) our week was less than I have paid for 2 days in Albuquerque. Our room was clean as a pin and very comfortable. We often have trouble finding a place to stay, as my wife is very allergic to mold but this place had no trace. Overall I will be staying here every time I come to Gatlinburg and the mountains and would recommend it to anyone.

I get the impression these other reviews were written by the owners/staff. First impression was the man at the front desk. Not rude, not friendly...just there. Rate was pretty cheap, but it is on the outskirts of town. Anyway, The room appeared clean at first, but I discovered a few roaches on the walls throughout the day. The shower head was busted, spraying water in every direction. There was a stain on the mattress that sure looked an awful lot like blood, but who knows... Uncomfortable beds as well. Definitely not going back.

we stayed there for five nights they are great fed the ducks i bet there is a 100 of them very nice staff and very helpful close to down town and the store and good places to eat.

We have stayed many years and our children wouldn't let us stay anywhere else. The ducks and the creek off the back porch is wonderful. The children leave a picture at the front desk every year. Gatlinburg wouldn't be the same without staying at Sleepy Bear Motel. Michele & Greg from Tennessee

Very clean, and very nice and helpful owner and employees. Convenient to bank, shopping, eating. Nice clean pool with kiddie section. Have stayed multiple times and have yet to have a complaint. No loud disturbances either. Kim&Jonathan, Monroe NC

The owner were very nice and the people who stayed were friendly. Also they had many ducks that I would have loved to brought home. LOL! Can't wait to go back!

We have been staying in this Motel for many years now. Very Clean and the clean are wonderful! Great prices! Very close to down town..Close to the grocery store! Try this one you will love it. Balcony in the rear. You can feed the ducks.

The staff is very friendly. We are always welcome and well taken care of. We love it and our kids don't want to stay anywhere else. It is very quiet and well worth the stay.

We've stayed here for years and love it. The staff is helpful and polite. The stream is a major plus. It's has a very relaxing environment and yet close enough to all the hubbub.

The rooms were very simple, no frills, but they were clean. Ours had a balcony beside the stream, which the kids loved to play in. The pool was very nice. We were able to walk or take the trolley wherever we wanted. We will probably return this summer.
