Dock's Motel, Townsend

We have come each August for four years--a relaxing night before biking at Cades Cove the next day. Clean, beautiful and relaxing view of the river (we stay in a cabin facing the river), rustic but modern, private, quiet, hospitable, reasonable price. Our only regret is that we have not been able to stay longer.

Very quite, lovely grounds and pool was very clean. You could tell owner takes pride in her business. And the room was cleaner than the top rated place in Pittsburg, PA, I stayed at last fall. We will be back. The Smith's Sequatchie, TN

I loved the homeness of the hotel, there are REAL comforters and shams--not the nasty hotel ones. Clean??? I can't express how clean it was. Just a wonderful find. Going back soon, tonight!!!!!

Dock's is a wonderful and peaceful place to stay while in the mountains. The motel is a very "old fashioned" place to stay. It is very clean. Sharon and Miss Dean and the crew are wonderful people. The river is right behind Dock's and we spent three days right on the banks. Cades Cove is 8 miles from Dock's and we went there every night. There were so many deer (bucks) and bears. We had one of the best times ever.

Dock's Motel is a WONDERFUL place to stay. My daughter and I just arrived back home from being at Dock's for the weekend. It is a place that is a must on our family vacation spot to escape to. The room was perfect for two. Wonderful quilts on the bed and just the right touches that made the stay wonderful. Two rocking chairs on the porch that overlooked the Little Pigeon River. We even saw a Blue Crane fly over the river. Wow what a site. Perfect place to stay for 2 or 10 they have accomidations for all needs. It is a little piece of heaven on earth in my book. The staff is very friendly and the lady who owns Dock's is so warm and friendly. Will definately be back in October!!!

My parents were from Wears Valley and we visited a couple of times a year when I was a little girl. Now that I am an adult my husband and I visit Townsend and the last two times we were there we stayed at Dock's. The room and the grounds are clean and the pool was wonderful. The value makes it very reasonable for families on a budget to take a vacation. We are planning another trip for March and we will stay at Dock's. Someday we hope to retire in Townsend.

We took our first vacation in almost 7 years here and were NOT disappointed! Everyone was wonderful, everything was clean, it's a peaceful location with a great view - yet not too far from the "hustle and bustle". Can't wait to go back and relax by the river with the fishin' poles again!!

I am currently building a home in Townsend. I have stayed at Docks several times, 4-5 days at a time. The owners are strong Christian people whom I felt very safe with during my stay because often times my husband couldnt come with me. They were always visible taking great care of their place. It felt like being at home. The motel is older yet extremely clean and well kept. They love to feed the birds too!
