check the room before you pay
By james, 06/29/09
The exterior is well maintained.. It's centerly located but the lack of the small amenities like extra towels, remote control, facial tissue, etc.bothers me. I spend more then 200 days per year on the road, i always stay in mom and pop motels because i try and keep the money i spend locally. I was the worst bed I've slept in. They need to invest in new mattresses or at the very least flip it once in awhile. With the prices they charge these small amenities and comforts should be included. I got a discounted rate of $128.00 for one night. Some discount..... Throughtout my travels I've started to notice that more and more motels are offering NO REFUNDS. be aware and check the room before you sign.It use to be a insult to the owners to check the condition of the room before you pay for it, but now It's a must. Don't settle for sub standard conditions there is always another motel around the corner

It's an ok place
By LARRY R, 04/16/07
I have stayed at the Blue Seal on several different occasions. It certainly isn't the best place around but I stay there because they have a room that has a stove and refrigerator in it. The carpet is old & the rooms smell musty. This big room only has one tv in it and it sticks out of the wall just enough to almost guarantee banging your head on it. If it wasn't for the kitchenette I wouldn't stay there. It just happens to be convenient because we go up there every year for a famly reunion in May. Some stay at better hotels and some camp out and I'm th eone that is expected to have a cooking area. If that room is available I will be staying there again but the musty carpet smell, the dirty windows, the leaky faucet in the kitchen that squirts water all over don't make the $500 price for two nights actually not seem worth it. However if you have a lot of people there is 2 bedrooms 2 baths and 2 other beds in the front area. Of course you have to walk thru the bedroom to get to the bathroom so don't expect privacy. And if anyone wants to get a soda out of the refrigerator in the middle of the night they also have to walk thru your bedroom. Jeez the more I write the less I want to ever stay there again!

Most over priced room ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/06
I can honestly say we have never stayed at a worse hotel. Do'nt be fooled by the exterior which is in reasonable shape. I can see why they make you pay in advance. The room was very dirty and in great need of repair, hardly worth the $159.00 U.S. that we paid.
