What a dump. We attended the National Cornbread festival this year. Not knowing the area we chose to stay in Jasper, which is just about 5 miles or less before the South Pittsburg exit. We kind of figured Acuff-TN-Roy's picture in the lobby, somehow he had to have had a link to this place, how bad could it be!! We arrived on Friday to a room that was dark, dank, and dirty. We looked eslewhere and there were no other vacancies, so decided tomake the best out of a bad deal, after all we had driven over 700 miles to attend this. The first morning we awoke to no hot water, we called the front desk and they said they were working on it and it would be back on soon, but that people over in the other side had hot water if we wanted to go to a room over on that side and shower....yeah well ok! They were right, by Saturday afternoon late, they did have hot water. We had a no smoking room, I guess that only applied to us, not to the housekeepers who smoked the whole time they were cleaning the room (well the whole time they were in the room, it never was cleaned). The floor to celling mirrors were dirty when we got there and were still dirty when we left, papers and tabs off of bread bags were in the floor when we got there and still there when we left. I think we had 1 bar of soap the whole 3 nights we were there, the cable TV was bad, and the extention cord used to plug in the TV was draped across the fridge and up to a plug in on the upper wall. It by no means was American owned as advertised (they said the new owners had just taken over). We left on Monday morning, and when asked how the room was we told the clerk it was "pretty bad". she did say she ws sorry and did comp the room for a couple of nights we were there, but that in no way made up for the condition of the room and the filth. If Roy Acuff ever owned this place it must be turning over in his grave now givin the condition. Never again!!
