Winslow Inn, Winslow

The place was FILTHY!!! I was in Room 135. The floor was dirty, the tub wouldn't drain (what was that brown mass in the drain anyway??), The curtains didn't close - I finally wedged the telephone directory into the space to prevent light leaks. The door didn't close properly - finally wedged a chair against it to close it. I did get a towel - A towel 'one' towe - no wash cloth or hand towel. The sink surround was filthy - had not been properly cleaned. The toilet didn't flush properly - I needed to remove the cover and adjust the float - in order to stop the water flowing. There was SNOT(!!!) on the door jamb(!!!!!) The shower curtain was brown and stained as were the ceilings. It looked like and smelled like something from a third-world country, paint chipped and peeling, sprayed with some type of 'air freshener' in an attempt to hide the smells. Very thin and uncomfortable mattress and lumpy pillows. Had it not been late at night when I checked in and had I not been very tired I would have left immediately. As it was the thin walls allowed the truck parked outside (about 12 feet from my bed) started and awakened me at 0400 and it, apparently, awakened a dog in the adjoining room which started whining. I got up up, showered (see above shower description), used THE towel and left at 0500, This place is a disgrace to the city of Winslow and should be to the owners/operators of the motel. Avoid this place at all costs!! Use the parking lot and sleep in your car instead - this place is really and truly dirty, nasty and needs to be reported to the local health authorities; that is my next agenda item!
