Rodeway Inn Barstow, Barstow

A wonderful hotel. The couple running it were the nivest people. They really cared that we enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice and spotless. The waffles that they made for us was a great way to start the day. Will definately stay again.

We booked a 1 night stay here based on location and price on our way to vacation in Mammoth from Arizona. We travel by car alot and stay at a variety of types and prices. We were told when making the reservation there was lobby construction, but assured it would not affect the free morning breakfast offering. We arrived at dinner time, the manager and his wife actually listened when we described what we wanted (not a chain) for dinner and we enjoyed thier recommended restaurant. After dinner we decided to check out the pool...while typical of the age and type of the hotel in design and decor, the entire fenced pool area was completely spotless, the water was perfect (not too much chlorine, etc) and the manager paid us a visit to specifically ask if we were pleased with the pool. While chatting we complimented him on the room - these range of motel rooms are usually sparse with very little if any attention to decor detail, but our room had some extra touches to make it more pleasant, a vase of beautifully arranged flowers on the dresser, and a white towel folded into the shape of an elephant on the dresser to hold the TV remote control in its trunk. Marvelous! Serendipitous! Very creative! On the sink vanity, a facecloth artfully folded into the shape of a butterfly holding the soaps! The manager was pleased to hear we were impressed, and said his wife personally provided each room with the extra touches, each room a little different. The motel was very full that night, in the morning we joined other guests in the lobby for the breakfast - there was indeed construction going on, but the coffee was perfectly brewed and a large selection of individually wrapped donuts, granola bars, sweetrolls, etc. was attractively displayed on a counter. Other guests we spoke with also had enjoyed thier stay. We departed early in the morning and had not planned on staying anywhere in Barstow on our return to Arizona however, 2 weeks later our trip was a bit off schedule and instead of expecting to arrive home at a reasonable time the last day, we realized we'd have to drive all night, which we just didn't want to do. From the road two weeks after we had first stayed that one night, I called to see if they had an opening for a late arrival (1am) for us,. In the course of explaining what highway we were on and where we were going, we were absolutely astonished that the man REMEMBERED us and since there was a vacancy, we stayed once more. That room was also spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable, the beautiful butterfly folded facecloth holding the wrapped soaps and the towel elephant holding the TV remote. The color scheme and theme of this room was different than the first one, yet there again was a beautiful arrangement of flowers etc. We highly recommend this motel to other travelers, good price, clean, convenient to the interstate, near the movies and restauraunts, but mostly because the husband and wife management team truly welcomed us as guests. Our two stays at this Rodeway 'book-ended" our entire vacation and could not have been more pleasant.

After presenting a coupon that entitled me to a night's stay for about $44, I unlocked the door and was pleasantly flabbergasted. My room was spiffy -- new, clean, comfortable and amazingly well-appointed for a place whose prices are in the mid to low range for lodgings in Barstow. The young lady behind the desk was smart and helpful, and the wi-fi service was a bonus. The clerk explained that prices here are more reasonable because there's no pool, continental breakfast or other extras. Well, who cares -- for the price I paid and the value I received, I'll happily buy breakfast at a local restaurant. This was hands-down the best lodging experience I had on my 9-day trip from New Mexico to California.

Our stay at this family-run hotel was fantastic. The owners were very accomadating and friendly. Not only was the service exceptional but also the rooms as well. Very clean, with refig/micro/hairdryer/irons/coffee/and free wifi. Loved how the toilet paper was decorated into a fancy fan and the towels into the shape of a dog and an elephant. Very convient to find and has plenty of resturants within walking distance. Must stay!

All rooms are none smoking but the room we got stunk for smoke and the second room was a little better but still had the smell of smoke...The towels were not really clean and the bedding looked like it was not changes after the previous person stayed in the room..The door did not have an inside latch...we will not stay here the next time...If we are forced to stay in Barstow we will pay a little more money any stay at a better hotel.

Very friendly staff. The young lady who handled my check-in was more thourough and professional than any Marriot or Sheraton I've stayed at. They actually seemed to care about me, which is uncommon at most hotels at this price range. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Highly recommend if you have to stay in Barstow.

Really pleasant motel. Clean, safe, good smelling, and very friendly service. Read the reviews on a couple of other websites. This motel has really gone the extra mile to maintain their excellent services and their good reviews. Will definetly come back and stay here again! Next time I must remeber to bring my swimming clothes because it is just too HOT in Barstow!

it was clean everyday and the rooms a nice and also they remodled and the serice has good i felt like i was at home .

We used the Rodeway as temporary housing; our room had a complete kitchen! Nikki greeted us upon check-in, with a friendly smile and an overview of the area. The entire property is well maintained, rooms are clean and tastefully decorated with new furniture and carpeting. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay while in Barstow; as an "over-nighter" or a temporary "home"! Next time you're in Barstow and looking for a place to stay, be sure to stop at The Rodeway Inn!!
