Alamo Motel, Los Alamos

This is a great motel that takes you back to the 50's. The rooms are plenty big and are clean and well kept. The location right in the center of town and only a mile or so from hwy 101 is ideal. The price is a relief from the larger cities. Having wifi available is another big plus.

I come through Los Alamos once a year and like to stay in the town for a few days.I stay at the same place which is the Alamo right smack dab in the middle of town. Last year i was kinda blown a way by the service and cleanliness of the room, but this time they had new management. Service was great,freshly painted and clean rooms.Wow what a difference!!!!!! I stayed the weekend and enjoyed myself at the Union Hotel where they have Live music on saturday night.What a great experience!!!!!!Ill be back next year for sure!!!!

First room I was given, the wireless signal wouldn't reach, so was moved into a room closer to the main office. Wireless only worked from the very edge of the room, as the signal was very low. The room itself.. disgusting. The furniture consisted of a table and chair, which was.. sticky. The shower smelled and was dirty/mildewy both on the floor and the ceiling. No air conditioning so the room was still hot at night from the heat of the day. Very old television complete with non-working remote. Was charged $55 for the night. They should have paid *me* to stay there. It was so bad I just had to laugh. I left as quickly as I could the next morning before I could catch something.. like ebola.

The room we were in was terrible. The bedroom itself had plaster missing from the wall, the occasional hole in the wall, an electrical socket hanging out from over a doorway, the bed smelled of "something" and no air conditioning. The kitchen which was in an adjoining room was worse. The stove was filthy with grease and grime all over it, the cabinets were the same and the floor where the stove was had brown grease all around it. In one of the food cupboards were dried rotting onions, and to make matters worse my wife saw a rat in the kitchen. Finally for the kitchen, the fridge/freezer wouldn't work and management refused to fix it or give us a discount. The bathroom was dirty on the floor, parts of the plaster were missing on the wall and the shower cubicle had rust on the same side of the wall as the shower head. They did provide one bar of soap and one packet of shampoo. Between these facts, we will never visit this hotel again. Management couldn't care less, as I asked them three times for a discount on account of the state of our kitchen, the rat and the fridge/freezer not working (which they already knew about) - one of the Indian ladies laughed at me. I had recently been there. The motel room that I was given was neat and clean. Seems like they have new management.Their rates are reasonable at just $34.99 per person on weekdays and weekly rates at $200.00 .Comfortable rooms,free breakfast every morning and good and friendly service. Location is very convenient,very near to the freeway but not easily visible from the freeway.Would recommend to put a big sign board.Overall pretty good.
