Park Hotel of Hot Springs, Hot Springs

Air was not working. there was only 1 blanket available & we had 2 beds (AND we had to explain why we wanted a blanket & pillows). Then they made US go get them instead of bringing them up. Coke machine was broken. Ice & coffee had to be obtained from the office. No blow drier or coffee pot in the room. Room decor really left ALOT to be desired. When we refused to stay they still charged us full price. Now having to dispute my cc bill. Save yourself the hassell & stay next door at the Arlington!!!

I found this to be a fantastic place for the price. It is only a 2 star hotel but unlike any 2 star I have stayed at. It has a great Italian Restaurant which every local in town I met said was the best in town. The rooms were clean but understand this hotel is 80 years old. If you are in a historic town would you not stay in a historic hotel to get the full flavor. Seems like a no brainer to me. The location could not be better. Center of town yet in the national park. You will have to google map it to understand. Last time I stayed at the Arlington which is on the same block. But it was two loud to sleep. Because of the sirens on Central Avenue. It was also 50% more than the Park. Even though the the Park was cheaper by far. I liked my room better at the Park. The staff was very helpful and there were no surpizes on my bill when I checked out. Which I find happens most of the time when I am on the road. My cell phone broke while in Hot Springs. I was happy to find an adorable private phone booth in the lobby of the Park Hotel. With a small sign that said long distance calls are free for guest. Now that is a nice touch. Try that at another hotel even some 4 star hotels don't do that. So I am giving them a 5 star rating for being the best 2 star hotel I have ever been to.

I found this place to be a very nice change from those corporate places I spend half my life in. It is a economy hotel based on pricing. However it has a lot of charm and other hings going for it. You can not beat the location. The staff was as helpful as could be. I asked for directions upon leaving and without asking for it the person asked for the address I was going to and printed a detailed map off the internet with detailed instructions that took me right to that address. Although not something other hotels could not do. The point is they did without me asking. I think these people like other people. That is a welcome change for me.

I spend alot of time on the road. This place is a bargain. It is clean in a great location with a helpful staff. No ir is not perfect. It is older but charming. They have a great Italian restaurant and plenty of free parking with free wifi. If you demand close to perfection go to Other hotels in the city that charge between 110.00 - 230.00. You can get a clean room for two here for 69.00 plus tax. Tax in Hot Springs is 13%. You can also get a bike here for a one time fee of $5.00 (Only for guest) for your total stay. This is a very clean place. I'm wondering if some of these negative reviews are from competitors.

I just stayed there this past week. In a town where Super 8 was charging $110 per day. This was a real hidden gem. Yes it is 80 years old. However it is a Landmark Building and the owners were doing lots of things to improve yet keep the charm in place. They were installing a new automatic Elevator while I was there and they had the original manual one operating 24 hrs. a day. They have restored this original elevator and it works like it was 1929 all over again. I found this to be a real nice touch and very personable rather than a cookie cutter hotel. I tip my hats off to the owners which also run the restaurant (Italian Food) in the lobby. The food was great! It seems that people just don't get it. If you do not give places like this credit for saving some of our history and charm. Then you will all be staying in some corporate cold hotel. The park is really a gem and Im sure it will get even better. It is always easier to knock than to say good things. For the money this place is the best value and charming place in Hot Springs. $75.00 per day and great location with nice people and great food. Some of you people need to get a grip.

I was just there over the Labor Day weekend with three of my other friends for our annual get together. It is an old hotel with lots of charm . The staff there are very accomadating. The room was a little stuffy but I asked for a fan... they brought one..more towels were needed as I was sharing the room with a friend.. they brought it right up. There are no ice machines but they delivered some ice . We had a blast and the new addtional resturant was fantastic as was our server Kathy. The food was very good. Those at the front desk were very nice. Our closet had built in drawers and it was very spacious. Our room had new carpet laid that same day and the beds were comfy. I liked this place as did my friends. This is not the first time to visit Hot Springs but it was the first time to stay at the Park. We will go back and stay at the Park.

They charged 1100 dollars for electric energy charge and we didnt even have controll of the ac it was so hot in the room the last night of our stay. Plus the barking of the dogs in the next room due to the paper thin walls. The carpet in the room was not very clean and the walls had stains on them. I have stayed at alot better places than this this was the worst HOTEL ive ever stayed in. When i asked about the AC all they told me was to make sure my vent was open then 3 hours later they finally turned the AC on but only when i called to complain about the room being to hot. Not a very comfortable hotel. Do yourself a favor and stay at another Hotel if you want a good place to stay.

After reading the negative reviews I was a little worried about reserving our weekend away at this hotel but against my better judgement I did based on the positive reviews. This hotel is just really OLD and DIRTY and the staff look like they just rolled out of bed and came to work in their scrubs. They were nice enough but all of the hotels I have ever stayed at the staff are required to wear uniforms. We wore our shoes the entire time because the carpet was sticky in the very small/cramped sparsely decorated room, and the floor in the bathroom looked as though it had not been swept in a while - it had paint drops and specks all over and it was difficult to tell what was dirt or plaster dust and what was paint specks. I won't even go into detail about the tiny, dirty shower. Elevator was out of order so we had to take the stairs. Comforter on the bed looked like it was on its last threads and had hair (not mine) all over it. NO CURTAINS! Only blinds that did not fit the window, so no sleeping in after the sun came up. NO ice machine (out of order), NO pop/snack machine (out of order), NO iron, NO hairdryer, NO dirty laundry bag. Every time I walked past the Arlington, next door, I looked longingly at the people walking in and out wondering if they had cleaner/updated rooms. The pictures on the Park Hotel Web site are very misleading and do not depict the actual hotel at all. I hated going back to this hotel every evening and was looking forward to checkout. Their policy says that cancellations that same day will be charged the entire rate so we mustered through but I will definately never stay at that hotel again! You GET what you PAY for and that definately applies to the Park Hotel of Hot Springs.

Each time we return to the Park Hotel, something new has been added. They have added an additional Bar and dining area with live music on the weekends. They always remember who you are and make you feel at home. This Hotel Staff is just so helpful.. They still need to update the rooms some. But the mattresses are great and the rooms are very clean. I will return again and look forward to a another new addition.

We had a really bad experience with this hotel. Sign on side of building says double 63 price at desk was 83. Used poor judgement and paid with credit card before seeing room. Needless to say the room was very shoddy. We decided not to stay walked down the stairs (you have to have an attendent to operate elevator) told the clerk we wouldn't be staying and was informed that we would have to come back next morning to see manager. Came back next morning and were told that a refund would have to be approved by a supervisor who wasn't there. Came back 4 hours later and were told by the same person that we would be charged the full rate even though we didn't stay in room. She would not give us the name or number of anyone that we could discuss the problem with. Just be warned to look before you leap, this is not an easy place to deal with.
