Breezeway Motel & Restaurant, Topsail Beach

I've read the other reviews on here and I think it all depends on what you're looking for. If you need a cost-effective, convenient place to stay at Topsail, then the Breezeway is superb. If you want a stellar room and room service, the Breezeway is pants. Stayed at the Breezeway last weekend and it was perfectly sufficient. I didn't use the pool or dock, but was satisfied with the efficiency room and fantastic location. You're in walking distance of everything in the Topsail Beach town, including the beach access, pier, stores, restaurants, putt putt, and the little roller skating rink. The staff was friendly, and I loved the resident dog, Bam. That said, the room wasn't sparklingly clean, the bathroom was petite, and the room felt a bit humid. I'm very fond of comfort, mind you, but this wasn't too big a problem. I'll stay here again. Probably even next week!

Most places attempt to be courteous while taking your money, but here, you can forget it. The lady at the desk seemed to be bothered by me showing up to rent a room. If that wasnt enough, you would have thought that I had asked for the impossible when I requested for a room on the first floor. (Due to the fact that I have a pregnant wife and three children under four years of age.) Also there was no phone in the room and the pool doesn't open till Memorial Day. Yes there was spider webs in the room between the double beds. I also thought that 123.96 a night was much too expensive. It is a shame because I really love Topsail Island. Maybe one day there will be a chain hotel on the Island.

We originally reserved some rooms here for 5 nights for a family vacation. We have a boat and were interested in a place with a boat dock. We were going to stay one night there in advance to check it out. What a disaster. The place was so disgusting we didn't even stay the night and drove back home that night. The boat docks appear to accomodate a boat 16-17 feet or less and are pathetic. The room we had was old and smelled horrible. the owner is apparently milking this thing for all it's worth and not putting a single dollar back into it. This places makes Sea Vista look like the Ritz Carlton....and if you've ever stayed there you know how bad this place must be. As other posters have said, the front desk appears to care less if you stay there or not. I can see why. Not recommended.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and had a very pleasant time. After fishing at the point down the road, we returned to the motel to freshen up and then went out to the dock and watched the most beautiful sunset. For September, it was very quiet and peaceful!

we had a good time here, the location is good, because you can walk to alot of stuff nearby. However, after we went, i read the other reviews on here, and the lady who said she and her family caught a virus after staying here was absolutely right!!!! We came home with something too, we were congested and coughing. It took a few weeks and lots of medicine to get rid of it. They desperately need renovations and updates. For the money, its not really worth it! a suggestion if you stay here, buy a can of lysol and spray the room down before sleeping in them!

Well husband, 2 yr. old and I were very much looking forward to a much needed vacation. We arrive at the Breezeway and the first thing we find out AFTER they take our money is that the pool is closed for Memorial Day weekend!! We arrive at the motel and find that it is far from clean. The room is old and dark. The toilet is broken, the showerhead in the bathtub sprays water OVER the curtain and the stopper in the bathtub is broken. Lights in the room are burnt out. The dressers in the room to store clothes shed wood particles all over our clothes. The beds are VERY uncomfortable and more akin to a trampoline. They did provide fresh towels but not fresh sheets. All this luxury for the low low price of 110/night. OUTRAGREOUS! Stay at the Sea Vista or Jolly Roger if you can. We're not sure if it's related, but I say highly possible after staying in a dirty motel - we all three came home sick with a virus. Nice.

First of all I might say that there are not enough hotels in Topsail Beach so the ones there have no competition to speak of. As we all know that makes it that much easier to take what you can get, and give little back. My first problem is the price. It's at least $10.00 higher than the Jolly Roger Hotel across the street. The Jolly Roger is on the beach and has a huge fishing pier. They have a nice bait shop and store you can eat there too. The Brezeway is on a smelly canal. The Breezeway has a crazy cancellation policy as well. Even if you cancel and they fill the room, you still get charged. The place is very old and smells like it. It's dark and dirty. The place needs a desperate renovation but I guess they just want to take money and never put any back in to make the place a bit more liveable. They have no alarm clocks and charge extra for a tv remote! They charge you another $11.00 if you'd like to take a quick shower after a fishing or dive trip and do a late check out. Even if you're out in early afternoon you get charged. The place is not much more than a dump for about $100.00. Finally, they're incredibly rude at the front dest like they could care less if you stayed there or not. It's as if you were bothering the desk clerk. I'll stay across the street or in another area of the beach but never here again. Be carefull reading the reviews with the 5 stars here. There's no way ths place deserves that. Did you notice that the 2 (5) star reviews are identical yet several months apart? Guess who did the reviews? (hint)

The room was dark and had an awful smell. There are no telephones in the rooms and there is no one to contact in the event you have a problem during the off hours. I have stayed at better places for the same amount; this place is a HUGE rip-off!

The Restaurant was delicious.The Landmark seafood restaurant on Topsail Beach, Nc lived up to its name. Great location and good for families and friends a wonderful place to be.You should visit here once in your life
