I Smell Bleach And Thieves
This place goes beyond the boundaries of a professionally run business, or even a decent one. I stayed here on my vacation to LA this year. They seemed reasonably priced so I booked them. When I got there, they were hard to find and their entrance was easy to miss and had a hazardous blind intersection on a busy street.
The room was small, they still use keys for their door instead of security cards, most of the room was occupied by the bed, it smelled strongly of bleach, and the carpets were filthy and the bathroom looked like one you'd find at a truck stop. A fridge was in there as well and we loaded it with drinks we had purchased.
It was hot that day so we left for a while to sight see and left the AC on hoping it'd cool down the place when we came back. But when we got back it was obvious that they entered our room and turned it off, probably to save electricity bills. No big at the moment, but it'd get there. We were promised a noon check out time the next day and went out again in the morning to visit downtown LA. When we came back at around 10:30AM we were greeted by the manager who said our room was already rented out. We complained that the website we booked them on stated a noon check out time, but he kept saying like a parrot that it was 11AM. The asinine part was that it wasn't even 11AM yet and he assumed we left so he rented the room out. Luckily I took all my valuables with me, because when we tried to retrieve our cooler and the drinks we left in the room they were gone!!! I saw my cooler on the housekeepers cart and took it back yelling at the manager that she tried to steal it. However, our drinks were nowhere to be found, she must have shared them with her co-workers if they're not her family. He tried hard to make amends, giving us drinks from his office and even offering me some fruit. He then gave me a free breakfast at a diner across the street calling it an apology gift. But when we got to the diner the waitress told us he should have gave it to us anyways and that it was not a good deed.I am so glad I didn't leave things like my digital camera and macbook in there cause then I probably would have had to call the cops.
Needless to say: THUMBS WAY DOWN! I'll never stay here again.
